Kane Kalas, Shaun Deeb and Doyle Brunson Make WSOP Prop Bets

The 50th WSOP is coming closer, and it is going to be big. Everybody is preparing in their own ways. Some players do their best to improve their poker skills and get better at this game, while others make prop bets to make things more interesting. One such case is with Kane Kalas, who made two prop bets against two poker legends, and both bets are connected to the 2019 World Series of Poker. If he wins both of them, he will definitely have a lot of money. On the other hand, if he manages to lose them, he will be in trouble and will have to give a fortune to the two poker legends. Let’s take a look at the prop bets that he made with Deeb and Brunson.

Deeb Prop Bet

Kalas is a former online poker player who really crushed tournaments and became an online legend. At one point in his career, he decided to start playing live tournament poker. He invested in the upcoming tournament by wagering a total of 5% of actions that he and Joe McKeehen have (which means he wagered 2.5% from each) against the belief of Shaun Deeb about Phil Hellmuth’s 5% action in the WSOP Main Event. In fact, Kalas is very sure that he is going to win this bet he booked against Deeb and stated that he was feeling pretty happy about it.

Brunson Prop Bet

After announcing the first bet, Doyle Brunson also stated that he believes in Phil Hellmuth’s success and Kalas decided to make a separate bet with Brunson which will have slightly different conditions.

The bet is actually a bit more complicated. If Hellmuth manages to make it to the top 1% of the players who take part in the Main Event, Kane Kalas will have to give $50,000 to Brunson. In return, Kalas will have an opportunity to select ten players, with each of them being worth $5,000 from the pocket of Doyle Bronson to him. In other words, for every player that Kalas selected, Brunson will have to pay him $5,000 if they end up in the 1% during the Main Event. The players that Kalas picked in his prop bet against Brunson are David Peters, Adrian Mateos, Brian Yoon, Ivan Luca, Paul Volpe, Kane Kalas, Alex Foxen, Justin Bonomo, Joe McKeehen, and Jake Schindler.

A particularly interesting choice was definitely Brian Yoon. Kalas explained that Yoon had done a fantastic job playing in WSOP tournaments. He stated that Yoon was four for seven when it comes to cashing the Main and that he had managed to go deep several times. Kalas admitted having had trouble when it comes to selecting his ten players. Some of the great players that he did not put into the list are Timothy Adams and Christoph Vogelsang, who were just below the top 10 list that Kalas had come up with.
