Joey Weissman, Taylor Black, and Alex Foxen Win Titles in the Venetian March DeepStack Showdown

Venetian Las Vegas held the March DeepStack Showdown between March 6 and April 2. It featured 42 tournaments and awarded over $3 million in guaranteed prize pools. The showdown attracted 4,989 players excluding satellites, who won $4,119,408 in prize money.

Even so, the Venetian had a $153,550 overlay in the $1,600 NLH Mystery Bounty tournament. Some of the title winners included David Larson (won $14,463 in Event No.9: $500 Epic Stack Freezeout), Samy Dighlawi (won $10,500 in Event No.19: $500 Epic Stack and Jason Bral (won $4,300 in Event No.12: $400 PLO).

Karel Kratochvil won two tournaments in the festival, including $9,296 in Event No.13: $400 NLH Epic Stack and $7,885 in Event No.17: $400 NLH Epic Stack. Giorgii Skhulukhiia won $31,097 in Event No.33: $600 Ultimate Stack and $80,554 in Event No.28: $1,100 Ultimate Stack.

Joey Weissman Denies Bryan Piccioli the Top Prize in Event No.3: $2,500 NLH Ultimate Stack

The tournament attracted 441 players and it had a $996,660 prize pool that the leading 56 entrants shared. They included Dylan Linde, Martins Adeniya, Ryan Riess, Michael Wang, and Philip Shing.

Thomas Boivin, James Romero, and Dan Colpoys reached the final table. But, Weissman defeated Piccioli in heads-up action to win the top prize.

The March 11 $800 NLH Ultimate Stack tournament attracted 301 entrants who created a $207,690 prize pool that only 39 entrants shared. Some of the players who cashed but failed to advance to the final table included Alexander Nachtew, Patrick Truong, Brandon Eisen, Vladimir Grechnikov, George Heim, and Paul Gunness. But David Yokoyama lost the first-place prize to Black.

Event No.39: $1,600 Mystery Bounty had 594 players, a $153,550 overlay, and a $1,000,000 guarantee. Bounties comprised $347,500 and the leading 75 players shared the rest of the pool.

J.J. Liu, John Morgan, Farah Galfond, Ryan Riess, Kfir Nahum, Eric Baldwin, Jonathan Dimming, Kenny Huynh, and Justin Young cashed and missed a seat at the table. But, Alex Foxen outwitted David Goodman to bag the top prize.
