Jens Kyllönen is a Finnish poker pro who hits the high stakes tables on a regular basis. The pro has decided to go to the highest limit in the universe by taking a trip to space in 2014. According to a report by Card Player Europe, the poker pro has purchased a €160,000 ticket to space.
The pro has a large bankroll thanks to high stakes poker play and he will now use some of his profits to head to outer space. The pro told Card Player Europe: “I’ve always been fascinated with space and now that I have the opportunity to be within the first people going I just felt like I had to do it.”
Kyllönen commented that he is currently still in the test phase of the program. The first real flights to space are scheduled to begin at the end of next year so he will most likely be heading up in 2014. The poker pro was interviewed by Card Player Europe as part of their October issue and he talked about his career, life and the trip to space. The player also discussed his participation in the WSOP One Drop event, in which he paid his own buy-in. the pro was asked about the luxuries that he has purchased with his winnings and this is when he mentioned the flight to space.
The poker media source asked the pro about how he was training for preflight and Kyllönen explained: “There is a 3-4 training period at the spaceport in New Mexico before the flight but other than that there isn’t any need for it. As long as you don’t have certain diseases you can go even if you are old or in bad shape.”
It will be interesting to hear what the pro has to say after the flight to space takes place. We will have to wait around a year and a half before we can find out exactly what a trip to space is like!
