A new winner in one of the events of the 2018 World Series of Poker emerged, and it is a player from Israel – Timur Margolin, who managed to defeat Ismael Bojang and win the golden bracelet in the Event #43: 2,5000 No-Limit Hold’em. The prize that he earned by winning in the tournament is $507,274.

There are as much as 1,248 entrants who participated in the event and a total prize pool of $2,808,000 was created. The battle was fierce and it even required the last six players to extend the tournament for one day in order to decide who is going to be a winner. The whole event was streamed by Twitch and happened in the Brasilia room.
The heads-up between Margolin and Bojang was really intense, and Bojang was the one who had much more enthusiasm to win the tournament, but Timur’s focus and skill were the dominant factors that ended the game. Bojang had a lot of close calls and had to be satisfied with the 2nc place which brought him a total of $313,444. Bojang is a Vienna-residing German who has participated in as much as 15 World Series of Poker final tables. He is known to be a specialist for mixed games, but the three finals he participated were no-limit hold’em events.
Margolin stated that he had had enough of second places. In fact, he was already second in this very same tournament three years ago, in 2015. He had a great desire to win and this really paid off in the end, having closely beaten Ismael Bojang.
Margolin added that he had entered the heads-up with a great chip lead but that he had been afraid of Bojang who was a really experienced and strong player. He was aware that the tides of luck could have changed in Bojang’s favor in any time – but that did not happen. Nevertheless, Bojang managed to turn the stacks over completely at one point in the game and had double the size of chips.
This was a hard kick for Margolin who was afraid of such a scenario. Furthermore, Margolin added that he had been playing similar the whole tournament and that he kept playing the same in the finals, adhering to the previous tactics. He added that he was now more mentally prepared in comparison to the other tournaments and was happy with the whole experience. He said that he was content and that it felt good only to be there on the tournament.
The final hand saw Bojang’s ace-deuce against Margolin’s king-queen. However, the flop gave a kind and the queen appeared on the turn which made a gutshot straight for Margolin on Bojang’s all-in. When it comes to the other players, it is worth mentioning that Michael Marder settled for the third place with $223,564 and Chris Ferguson was on the fourth place with $161,371.
