It was a live-streamed cash game event called Live at the Bike $100/$200 and it was a no-limit hold’em big blind ante that included some of the big names from the poker world such as Garrett Adelstein, Nick Vertucci, Gary Raina, and Dan Zack. All of these players had a chance to make history and tried to play poker with time on their backs.

They all had only 30 seconds each to think about their next move and to execute it. The poker fans and other players were really nervous about the way it will happen – but it turned out just fine. But is there a possibility for this to become widely accepted and used in other professional poker games?

Joey Ingram stated that it would certainly be a game-changer. However, he did not make it clear whether that would positively or negatively affect the whole experience.

Before the game, there were comments made by some other famous names from poker. For example, Phil Galfond was really enthusiastic about the clock and said that it was a fantastic idea to introduce it. However, he added that he had been wondering whether the games would become too serious with this novelty. Finally, he stated that it was definitely worth exploring the whole clock thing.

Johnnie Moreno, who was the commentator of the live stream, also said before the game that he had been rather excited. He thought everything would go well and said that the players would be just fine with the clock and that the viewers would be in for much more action and more intense game. He made it simple by stating that more hands simply meant more potential action. However, he was certain that the clocks would put pressure on the poker players and that they could lead to them losing their temper or making huge mistakes that they otherwise could not have made.

Andrew Neeme, a poker vlogger who has several awards added that he absolutely loved the idea of introducing time in poker. He said that most of the decisions are usually made even quicker and that 30 seconds might even be too long. Furthermore, he stated that 20 seconds might even be a better idea. On the other hand, he added that it was a great starting point to explore the whole thing with time.

Finally, Kayla “Winopoker” Voogd added that nobody liked watching tanking and all the people who watched poker mostly enjoyed action and quick play. Therefore, she concluded that the introduction of time would definitely be a great concept and it would be great for the show.

It is indeed a great concept worth exploring more and, if everyone agrees, introducing it to all poker tournaments.
