In March 2008, Bodog Poker launched the very first Bodog Poker Open, a 6-event series that proved highly lucrative for Main Event winner “phatcatâ€Â. Now, as September draws near, Bodog Poker has finally announced a date for the Bodog Poker Open II Main Event, schedule for Sunday, October 5th at 4:00 pm ET.
The online poker room has yet to release a full schedule of events for the second installment of the Bodog Poker Open, but an announcement is anticipated within the week. However, even without a full schedule yet available, Bodog Poker has begun hosting Satellite competition to the Bodog Poker Open II Main Event. These Satellites can be found in the Bodog Poker lobby under ‘Scheduled Tournaments’, then ‘BPO’.
Direct buy-in to the BPO II Main Event is $470+$30, and registration is already open with unlimited seats available. Daily Satellites to the BPO II Main Event can be entered for as little as 50 Points or $5+$.50.
Earlier this year, Bodog Poker hosted its inaugural Bodog Poker Open, attracting a field of 596 players in the Main Event, establishing a prize pool of $305,120 after Bodog Poker threw another $25k-cherry on top. There were a lot of familiar names taking on the first BPO Main Event challenge, but heads-up play came down to “phatcat†and “_TheFinisher_â€Â.
Now a historic landmark name at Bodog Poker, “phatcat†went on to win the first Bodog Poker Open Main Event, pocketing $76,280 for his clearly exuberant poker skills. For this exceptional victory, Bodog Poker also awarded phatcat with a commemorative Omega Speed Master watch, valued at more than $4k.
