Bin Weng led in a 73-entries field to win $189,800 in the high roller. The 2022 Wynn Millions series was a highly competitive $10,500 buy-in High Roller event, and it was Weng’s sixth tournament title. Also, it was his second-biggest score in his professional poker career after the $202,236 he received after finishing sixth in the 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) $50,000 buy-in no-limit hold ’em event.
Reports claim that Weng currently has over $1.6 million lifetime poker savings. The recent Wynn Millions High Roller was the player’s second title run this year. He won $27,980 in a $600 buy-in event in the Venetian DeepStack Extravaganza I on February 28.
He was second in a $2,200 buy-in event in the Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open with a $117,425 prize. The three big scores have enabled him to amass 1,200 Card Player Player of the Year points.
Weng holds the 21st position in the 2022 POY race standings that Global Poker sponsors. The high-stakes event is in the PokerGO Tour (PGT). Weng garnered 190 PGT points after winning the event, and he rose to the 25th position in the PGT leaderboard.
Weng’s Performance in the High Roller Event
The poker pro eliminated Daniel Negreanu, a six-time bracelet winner, on the money bubble. His 9-8 ouflopped The Poker Hall of Famer’s pocket sevens. He led in chips in the final table and was amongst the top players despite losing a few all-in versus short stacks earlier in the event.
Weng scored the first knockout on the final table after his K-10 suited outperformed Ben Diebold’s, the 2018 Card Player Tour bestbet Jacksonville main event champion’s, A-2 suited. Diebold received $29,200 after finishing eighth.
Darren Elias, World Poker Tour main event winner, was in eighth place after Ren Lin’s Q-J beat his A-8. He received $36,500 after finishing sixth at the 2022 final table and rose to the 28th position in the overall standings.
Ivan Zufic, an ARIA High Roller event winner, got eliminated at the event after Weng’s A-Q suited collided with his A-5 suited. The two players bit a pair. But, Weng had better queens at the end, and Zufic got $43,800 for finishing sixth.
Jeremey Ausmus was among the final five at the table, and it was his eighth time to advance to the POY final table. His last short stack prefloped with A-6. But, Tony Tran later called with his A-K.
Unfortunately, Ausmus couldn’t come from behind. Instead, he amassed 150 POY points and received $58,400 after finishing fifth. Yet, he leapfrogged Ali Imsirovic, another Wynn Millions High Roller winner, and topped in the POY leaderboard with 2,172 points and over $1.1 million year-to-date POY earnings.
Ilyas Muradi, 2021 WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open main event winner, topped Ren Lin with A-3. Still, Lin used pocket sevens to make a call which he held after nine highs.
Muradi got $73,000 after finishing fourth and advanced to the 2022 final table. He has over $875,000 POY earnings.
Tran followed shortly after Muradi’s elimination. He threw the remaining 6110,000 from a small blind.
