Another Aussie Millions tournament wrapped up with the most important event coming to an end. The Main Event was something really different this time as it was the largest one in the history of the tournament, and Bryn Kenney managed to top the 822-strong field and earn the top cash prize of AU$1,272,698 ($923,269). This happened after he struck a three-handed deal with the remaining two players. One of the final three was also a citizen of the United States, Mike Del Vecchio, while the other was an Australian called Andrew Hinrichsen.

The start of the final table was not one of the Kenney’s best, as he entered it with a short stack. However, he managed to double up two times in the first 50 hands which put him in control of the game. He was playing steadily and managed to stay alive one more time after having scored another double during the three-handed play.
Three-handed play lasted for more than 100 hands, and the three players were exhausted. It was a perfect time to make an evening break and Kenney, Del Vecchio, and Hinrichsen returned from the break with a three-way deal. Kenney brought home the biggest part of the prize, along with the trophy and ANTON Jewelry bracelet.
What Does Kenney Say About His Victory?
Naturally, Kenney was excited to win the tournament, but he stated that he hadn’t been interested in making a deal with other players unless he had been going to win. He stated that he would have played to win if they had decided to play for it. On the other hand, he added that striking a deal always feels like the tournament had been over. Nevertheless, he added that those were big pay jumps and that the Aussie Millions Main Event 2019 had been the biggest pay jump.
He finally stated that it was strange for everything to sink in and that he wasn’t really aware of the victory as he often didn’t think he was doing his best. Kenney added that it would be nice to relax and take a week off from playing poker before he returns to playing other tournaments. He stated that he just wanted to feel like a champion for a week.
Mike Del Vecchio was the chip leader for most of the three-handed play, and he managed to earn a total of AU$1,272,162. Scoring big deals is nothing new from him as he already managed to end up fifth in the same event that took place last year. He stated that him being second was somewhat bittersweet for him as he had wanted the trophy the most in the world. He added that he gave the money to Kenney, but that he had wanted to play for the trophy which had also slipped right through his hands.
