Andy Bloch Finally Wins First WSOP Bracelet in Event #7

Long time poker pro Andy Bloch registered to compete in Event #7 of the World Series of Poker hoping to win his first WSOP bracelet. Bloch has competed in the WSOP for over twenty five years and had yet to earn his first bracelet, until this past weekend. After reaching several final tables, Bloch’s hard work finally paid off and he is now among the WSOP elite!

Event #7 was a $1,500 Seven Card Stud event and the event saw 367 players competing. The event would span over three days and on the third day, the final nine would return to see who would claim the WSOP bracelet.

Poker pro David Williams would start the day with the chip lead, while three other players had just a few buy-ins between them. Joseph Ranciato, Scott Abrams and Caroline Hermesh would exit quickly as they could barely pay their blinds.

Exiting in sixth was Lee Goldman as he paired his queens on fifth but Williams got two pair on the fifth taking the lead on the hand. Williams would earn yet another five on sixth and this would give him a full house. Goldman would then exit in sixth.

Williams would now have a huge chip lead and he looked to be the player who would take the competition. However, it would not be long before Williams started to slip up and he would lose the majority of his chips.

Huu Vinh would go out next after taking on Bloch and Williams would not be far behind. This would leave Stephen Su, Barry Greenstein and Bloch in the tournament. Su would have the chip lead and all three would trade chips for two levels.

Bloch would then make his move and earn almost 1 million chips and eliminate Su. This would leave Bloch and Greenstein in heads up play. Bloch had an almost 4 to 1 chip lead and he would eventually reach a 10 to 1 lead.

With the final hand, Bloch had queens and then earned both queens and tens on Fifth Street while Greenstein had an eight high straight. Greenstein looked good but an Ace on sixth and a K on seventh earned Bloch Broadway and he would finally earn his first WSOP Bracelet.
