888poker run the ChampionChip Series between October 22 and 31. It featured more than 22,000 players, 29 sporting-themed tournaments, and awarded over $525,000 in prize money.

The 2023 series’ running had bargain-basement tournaments with $3.30 to $60 buy-ins and up to $200,000 guarantees. The $200,000 Main Event Mystery Bounty was the series’ largest tournament with almost 3,600 players. However, its final guarantee was about $21,000 less than its initial target.

Still, it had the largest prize pool in the series and collected fees exceeding $35,000. But there were other games with five-figure prize pools.

Unfortunately, only three of them reached their guaranteed pools. Event No.2: $5,000 Flags Parade Mystery Bounty had the highest prize pool increment in the series. Yet, its participants parted with $7.70 only.

The Largest Games in the ChampionChip Series

The 2023 Fall ChampionChip suited low-stakes players. The Main Event had a $60 buy-in, the largest in the series. Its $200,000 guarantee more than doubled some event’s guarantees.

Still, the event’s over 3,500 entry field was the largest. Its collected fee was 10.5 percent less than the guarantee. However, it was more than five times the second-largest total prize pool.

The ChampionChip’s opening day was action-packed as the best-performing game and second-largest guarantee kicked off.

The $5,000 Flags Parade Mystery Bounty had the largest guarantee increase. Its $5,000 guarantee collected $7,000, hence a 40 percent increase.

Event No.24: $5,000 Biathlon Mystery Bounty had a $8.80 buy-in and $5,000 guarantee. But it collected $6,816 and had a 36.32 percent prize increase.

the $25,000 Opening Ceremony Mystery Bounty performed well, being third in the prizes. It collected $31,800 and had a 27.20 percent increase from its initial guarantee.

Event No.6: $1,500 Judo PKO 6-Max had a $3.30 buy-in and $1,500 guarantee. Yet, it collected $1,866 prizes and recorded a 24.40 percent increase.

More Details About the $200,000 Main Event Mystery Bounty

The Mystery Bounty Main Event started on October 24 with $60 buy-in flights. However, only 519 players advanced to Day 2 each striving to secure a seat at the final table. The event’s largest bounty was worth $20,000 and Laaimis21 bagged it despite finishing 93rd.

“yujimatsui17” reached the eight-handed final table being the stack leader with 10,062,023 chips. “OnlyBet” was second with 7,509,693 chips and “TitovSerj” third with a 5,634,515 stack.

The latter finished third with $14,035 after collecting bounties worth $7,755. woop_woop and SaoJorge2222 clashed in a heads-up match for the top prize. But the former sent the latter packing as the runner-up with $9,643 while taking home a $13,562 total prize.
