There are some massive live poker tournaments that take place throughout the year in Las Vegas, but things tend to heat up every single summer. Based on some recent announcements from casinos in the city, this is going to be another great year.
The World Series of Poker will always stand out when it comes to live poker events in Las Vegas, but there will be other options to explore as well. At least five other casinos are planning a major poker festival, and Wynn Las Vegas is going to lead the charge.
Some of the top poker players in the world are going to be spending a few weeks in Las Vegas as there will be a number of great events to check out. More tournaments are likely to be announced at some point in the future, but there are already some great options available.
Big Names; Big Events
The Venetian is one of the most popular casinos in Las Vegas, and it will be hosting the DeepStack Championship again this year. That event is going to run from May 20-July 31, and it’s going to be competing with the WSOP for a good chunk of that time.
The WSOP is scheduled to take place from May 28-July 17, but other casinos are going to look to draw players in as well. Even though there will be some overlaps in the schedule, other casinos will have enough variation to keep players interested.
The DeepStack Championship is going to have a prize pool valued at $14 million, and that will be enough to attract some of the top players. There will be other casinos hosting tournaments well, and that includes the Golden Nugget.
There are big events that take place at the Golden Nugget throughout the year, but the Grand Poker Series from May 28-July 1 will be one of the biggest options. The Aria and MGM Grand are going to get into the mix as well, and each is going to have some great events taking place.
The MGM Grand will be hosting the 2024 Summer Poker Festival, and the High Roller Series will be held at the Aria. Most of these events will start in June, but things will kick off a bit later at the Aria.
Wynn Summer Classic Returning
While all of those casinos are going to have some great tournaments available, the Wynn Summer Classic should top them all. This is an event that happens every single year, and it’s a direct competitor to the massive event that the WSOP puts on.
There is a guaranteed prize pool of more than $37 million offered up by Wynn, and there will be more than 100 tournaments available as well. That event will begin slightly before the WSOP, and it will continue a few weeks later.
The World Poker Tour is also going to be involved with this event again as the WPT Alpha8 Trifecta is always a popular event.
