Wizards at Warriors: NBA Betting Preview

It’s been a slow-ish start to the season for the Wizards, as they lost in two of their first three games. We will not know what they really look like until we see Dwight Howard out there. Ian Mahinmi, still owed $32 million over the next two years, has played sparingly as a starter. Jeff Green and Markieff Morris have many mins at PF/C so far. Not ideal.

For the Warriors, they’re just playing the waiting game until they get DeMarcus Cousins into the lineup. At 3-1, their only loss came against the upstart Nuggets, and Steph and KD have looked as good as ever. Klay has struggled with his shot, shooting just 37.3% from the floor. Golden State is -8.5 in this game.

Wizards Off to Slow Start

The story has been the same so far. Beal and Wall combine to take roughly 40 shots a night, while they hardly pass the ball to $25-million-per-year Otto Porter Jr. This has been a trend for a few years now, and a very weird one. He’s a terrific shooter who hardly gets any looks. Wall and Beal are both effective scorers and playmakers, but if you don’t regularly involve all five players on the court, the offense eventually gets stagnant- and too soon in the game, at that. They have some room to grow in that area.

Austin Rivers has gotten off to a bit of a slow start with his new team, averaging eight points and two assists per game. Jeff Green, meanwhile, is averaging 10 points, four rebounds, and a blocked shot per night, leading the team in center minutes. They have had to go small due to ineffective backup bigs, as Dwight is still not ready. This is a tough matchup for them, but they can win with the three ball.

Warriors Still Best in the League

Steph is averaging a line of 30.5-5.0-7.8 through four games and shooting 52.9% from the floor. The former unanimous MVP has been unstoppable. KD is right behind him, with 26.8-7.8-5.8, a very worthy running mate. Klay has shot just 37% from the floor and is averaging only 14 points per game, something that has been a huge surprise. Damian Jones has proven to be a really pleasant player that they’re getting a lot more than expected from, as he’s been dunking on everybody. The new center has looked great and clearly put in the work in the last two years.

Golden State has been reluctant to play Jordan Bell much, which is a huge surprise given how impactful he was last year. Jonas Jerebko has taken many of those minutes. Shaun Livingston has missed a few games with a left knee contusion, so they hope to get him back soon. If they play their game and hit their open looks, Dubs get to 4-1.

Warriors Stay Hot, Drop Wiz to 1-3

A good day for Golden State as they knock off the Wizards. Curry and Durant will combine for 60, outscoring Beal and Wall to lead GS to victory.
Klay will finally discover his outside shot in its pure form.
