Wednesday Night Fever: Milwaukee Brewers at Los Angeles Dodgers

After a busy trade deadline, the Brewers will be in prime position to come back and take over their division again. They’ve got tremendous talent and will be looking to make moves on the field now.

The Dodgers also made some moves at the deadline to improve their roster, as they are in a tight race for first place with the Diamondbacks. It should be interesting to see unfold. The Los Angeles Dodgers are -160.

Milwaukee Brewers

Already boasting a solid roster, the Brewers went out and improved their roster. They brought in Joakim Soria to bolster their bullpen, while adding Mike Moustakas and Jonathan Schoop to bolster their defensive infield, as well as their lineup. The talent their lineup now boasts with the two of them, plus Christian Yelich, Jesus Aguilar, and Travis Shaw. Their pitching has been good enough to win them games, while the offense has been fantastic. Things will only get better for the Brew Crew, as the roster is as good now as it has been in a long time.

They will send Chase Anderson to the mound for his 22nd start of the season. Thus far, in 114 2/3 innings of work, he has posted a 3.69 ERA. He has struck out 90 batters while walking 42. He was efficient in his last start against the Giants, allowing one run on four hits in six innings of work.

Los Angeles Dodgers

Every year, the Dodgers seem to have a new player bursting out as a big-time performer out of nowhere, as well as making a major move at the trade deadline. They brought in one of baseball’s best players last week in Manny Machado, before acquiring Brian Dozier today. They also added John Axford as another big-time arm to their bullpen. With the way Matt Kemp has been performing this year, and how Max Muncy has been crushing the ball, these new bats only serve to enhance what they already have. These Dodgers are a serious force to be reckoned with.

They will send Rich Hill to the mound for his fifteenth start of the season. He’s been less efficient this year than the past few, but he has been serviceable. He’s gone 4-4, posting a 3.82 ERA in 68 1/3 innings of work. He has struck out 77 batters while walking 25. He was perfect in his last start against the Braves, going seven scoreless, while walking just one batter and striking out eight.

Rich Hill, Dodgers come away victorious

A good day to be a Dodgers fan, they will get it done against the Brewers, as they hold off the Diamondbacks for another day. Every game they play for these next few weeks will either push them back to second, or help them keep their lead.

Rich Hill will go six strong to help his team out, while Manny Machado has his first multi-HR game in a Dodgers uniform.
