Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview

Tampa Bay travels out West to take on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. For this contest, we have two teams at opposite ends of the spectrum doing battle. Tampa Bay has a long skid it is trying to snap out of, with Jameis Winston turnovers being its big kryptonite. The Buccaneers are the fifth-highest scoring team in the league with their 28 points per contest, but they are surrendering 30 points a game, good for third-to-last. Their defense has shown to be solid up front, but overall, they just cannot stop drives. Since hanging 55 points on the Rams, they have gone 0-3.

Seattle, on the other hand, is among the best teams in the league this year, off to a 6-2 beginning. The Seahawks’ two losses have both come at home to the Saints and Ravens. They bounced back with a win over Atlanta last week and are in search of their seventh victory of the year. They are still two games behind San Francisco in the NFC West, as those Niners have not taken any defeats yet. This team is gritty, and hopes for another win.

The Seahawks are set as six-point favorites, with the over/under set at a whopping 52 points.

Tampa Bay Tries To Break Out Of Funk

Tampa Bay is a team that has no problem running up the scoreboard on its opponents. But when it comes to getting stops, the Bucs seem to be unable to get it done. They have talent on both sides of the ball, and one of the league’s more impressive pass rushes, so it has been surprising to see them struggle. Bruce Arians has not been doing the job expected of him, but a lot of that also falls on the players. Winston’s 14 TD passes and 2,073 yards are nice, but he has 12 picks and has lost six fumbles.

Shaquil Barrett has recorded 10 sacks already this year, Carl Nassib adding another three. Not having a healthy Jason Pierre-Paul has certainly hurt, while the secondary has been looking like burnt toast.

Seattle Look To Keep Pace

The Seahawks’ defense ranks 20th in points allowed, surprisingly high considering what we have seen from them over the years. They also have one of the best QBs in the game, with Russell Wilson throwing for 2,127 yards and 17 touchdowns, his lone interception a simply poor decision, and one that was taken to the house by Baltimore’s Marcus Peters. Chris Carson has been a workhorse out of the backfield, with 659 yards and three scores. DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett lead a solid group of receivers that just got better with the addition of Josh Gordon.

Surprisingly, they have amassed just 13 sacks in total, but we should expect several of them on Winston this week. Also, look for Bobby Wagner to let the Bucs know who the best defensive player on the field is going to be.

Seattle Gets The Win

In front of the home crowd, Seattle will take another win. Make sure to bet the OVER.
