St. Louis Blues at Vancouver Canucks Betting Preview

The St. Louis Blues and Vancouver Canucks will continue their best-of-seven first-round playoff series on Monday night. The two teams were forced to play overtime in Game 3 of the series on Sunday night, and fatigue could be a factor.

Vancouver won the first two games of the series, and they looked to be in control. St. Louis was able to come away with a win in Game 3, and they will be looking to even up the series at two games apiece on Monday night.

Meanwhile, the Canucks can take a commanding 3-1 series lead with a win on Monday, and they will be looking to push the Blues to the brink of elimination. The St. Louis Blues are -140 over the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night.

Blues Looking For More Offense

Even though the St. Louis Blues were able to come away with a win in game 3 of the series, this team is still looking for more offense. The Blues have scored just nine goals in their last four games, and that puts a ton of pressure on their defense.

David Perron has been the offensive star for the Blues so far this postseason, scoring a team-high four goals and racking up six total points. Ryan O’Reilly leads the team with five assists so far in these playoffs.

Jordan Binnington and Jake Allen have split time in net so far in the playoffs, but Allen has been the much better performer. Allen has stopped almost 97 percent of shots faced, and he has allowed just three total goals.

Young Canucks are Talented

Vancouver had their five-game playoff winning streak snapped on Sunday night, but this Canucks team is extremely talented. Most experts believed that that Canucks were still a year away from a deep playoff run, but this team is performing now.

Elias Pettersson and Bo Horvat have led the way for the Canucks so far this postseason, and they are the faces of the franchise. Petterson has a team-high nine points this postseason, and Horvat leads the way with six goals.

Jacob Markstrom has been in net for each of the first seven games for the Canucks, and he has also played well. Markstrom has stopped 93 percent of shots faced and has already racked up a shutout during the playoffs.

Vancouver might not have what it takes to win the Stanley Cup this season, but they are playing outstanding hockey.

Blues Even Up the Series

The Vancouver Canucks jumped out to a huge lead in this series, but they gave the defending champions some hope in game three. It’s hard to eliminate a defending champion, and the Canucks will find that out in game 4.

St. Louis has yet to place their best hockey in this series, but it’s coming. The Blues are too good to be kept down for long, and they will put together a great game on Monday night.

The Blues even up the series with a game four win. Bet the Blues -140 over the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night.
