Sacramento Kings @ Los Angeles Lakers Betting Preview

It has been a tale of two seasons for a team like the Kings, but they are continuing to light the beam in Sacramento as they win games.

Their roster is gelling in an unexpected way, and the Kings will take the short trip down the road to take on the division rival Los Angeles Lakers.

Outside of the top three in the west, every team from the fourth spot all the way down to the 14th spot are within three games of each other. With plenty of season left to be played, there isn’t a time to panic yet.

The Lakers are still unsure whether or not Anthony Davis is going to be able to return before the All-Star break, but that is their current goal. Without him, LeBron has elevated his game after recently celebrating his 38th birthday.

Despite the huge difference in seeding, the records are remarkably even. This gives the Kings the slight nod on the road over the Lakers at -3.5.

Putting together their all-stars for a cohesive unit

After the blockbuster trade of Tyrese Haliburton last season, the Kings were unable to make any noise in the final stretch of the year.

Well, they have saved their roar for this season, as every piece of their team is clicking together in an unexpected way. Losing a franchise guy like Haliburton is never a good thing, but Domantas Sabonis has been incredible in his role.

The offense is fun, and their late-night games are one of the many highlights through the halfway point of the NBA season.

If the Kings continue at this rate, their roster will undoubtedly make some noise in the postseason. They are no longer the little brothers in California.

Getting the King to the all-time scoring record

In a year as bizarre as the one the Lakers have been stuck dealing with, they are making headway for LeBron James to achieve the unthinkable.

At 38 years old, he is putting up some of the best statistics of his entire career, and he is very rapidly approaching the all-time scoring record for the NBA.

This play has helped the Lakers in some games, but they have more problems than he can fix on his own.

What they need is for Anthony Davis to get healthy so they can sneak into the play-in tournament again and have a chance to make a postseason run.

Kings @ Lakers Betting Prediction

In a battle of California, the Kings and the Lakers are pretty much even in terms of record despite the huge difference in standings.

LeBron will look to continue his dominant run of scoring and should meet little resistance against the Kings. Their forwards will have no chance of containing James.

With Davis out for the foreseeable future, the Lakers have been playing a more free version of basketball. They are free from the usual expectation that comes with being a team in Los Angeles.

Take the Lakers on their home court to win at +3.5.
