Phoenix Suns at Los Angeles Lakers Betting Preview

It will be a fun West Coast matchup between the Lakers and Suns on Tuesday. The teams come in with the same number of losses, something few (if any) experts would have chosen back when the season first began. Phoenix could pass their opponents in the standings if they can leave Staples Center with the win.

The Chris Paul and Devin Booker pairing has been everything they could have wanted and more. After playing for three teams in the prior four years, it seems Paul is as comfortable now as he has ever been.

The team has a budding star in Mikal Bridges, playing lockdown defense every night. And it looks like the rotation is finally starting to shape up after months of alterations.

Los Angeles, on the other hand, has to be happy about being 24-11. But how they have gotten there is not so pretty.

With Anthony Davis out, they have done a fair amount of losing, showing incredible inconsistencies. There are good and bad days for this team, but Dennis Schroder’s return provided them with some much-needed stability at the point guard spot.

ODDS:

Tuesday’s spread is currently sitting at LAL -1.5. The over/under is set at 215.5 points.

Suns Looking for Major Win

There is no doubting that the Suns have arrived. But every win will be critical against the West elites because being the No. 4 seed is a very dangerous thing.

They would get the toughest first-round series while also playing the top seed if they advance for the first time in a decade. The conference has been top-heavy.

Between the Lakers, Clippers, and Jazz, there is no shortage of superstars. All of those teams have been rolling this year, though Utah did just suffer a setback with a Monday night loss to the Pelicans. This is a chance for a team that boasts two All-Stars for the first time in 11 years, that they are legit and ready to play with the big boys.

Look for Devin Booker to be aggressive in one of his final opportunities to show voters that he’s a lot more than a “replacement” All-Star.

Lakers Seeking Win No. 25

At 24-11, the Lakers have followed last year’s title with a strong opening to the year. The only issue that Phoenix, the Clippers, and Jazz are keeping them from getting that top seed.

There was no home-court advantage in the bubble, so seeding meant very little. That won’t be the case this time through, though. They need it.

If they were to play the Clippers in the playoffs, having home court would be great. Because if not, they’ll have to deal with being a road team in their own building up to four times. The awkwardness of that would surely be something.

If they want a win, they’ll need to make somebody other than Booker beat them. Paul has been a dime-dropper more than a scorer this season.

Suns Surprise Lakers with Win

It’ll be a win for the Suns, led by Devin Booker and Jae Crowder.
