Phoenix Suns at Golden State Warriors Betting Pick

It’s the Tuesday night finale and an opening night affair, as the Phoenix Suns are on the road at the Golden State Warriors.

The Phoenix Suns are coming off a season where they went 45-37 during the regular season and finished fourth in the Western Conference. The Suns eliminated the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round but then fell to the eventual champion Denver Nuggets in the second round.

For the Golden State Warriors, they went 44-38 in the regular season and finished sixth. The Warriors won their final three games of the regular season.

Golden State played in a highly competitive first round against the Sacramento Kings, winning in seven games. The Warriors then lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round.

The Phoenix Suns are favorites in this game despite being on the road. The Suns are listed at -1.5, and the total is at 234.5.

Suns Loaded with Talent

The Phoenix Suns are loaded with talent. Already, with the addition of Kevin Durant, they also added Bradley Beal in the off-season. Beal, coming from Washington, will now get a chance to play on a competitive team with two other elite scorers. Beal and Devin Booker are both questionable for this game, but it is likely they will play.

Kevin Durant is getting a chance to take on his former team, the Golden State Warriors. Durant spent a few seasons winning a title with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.

Durant scored 29.1 points per game a season ago, playing in 47 games. In the postseason, Durant scored 23 points or more in each game. Durant needs just 14 games to reach 1,000 in his career and is scoring more than 27 points per game.

Joining Durant, Beal, and Booker are expected to be Josh Okogie and Jusuf Nurkic. Off the bench for the Suns, Keita Bates-Diop, Jordan Goodwin, and Grayson Allen expect to get the majority of the time.

Warriors Still Got Dudes

The Golden State Warriors certainly still have extreme talent. There is no doubt about that. The biggest issue for the Warriors coming into this game is the absence of Draymond Green. The power forward will not play in this game with an ankle injury. Golden State went 4-1 during the preseason, only losing in the finale to the Spurs.

Taking the spot of Green in the lineup is expected to be Kevon Looney. He will join Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and like Jonathan Kuminga. Curry is entering his age 35 season.

The point guard from Davison scored 29.4 points per game and made 42.7% of his shots from downtown. Like Durant, Curry is creeping up on 1,000 career games. Curry will not get it this season, but it is possible one more season will get him there.

The Warriors are seeking their fourth straight season above .500. Golden State went 39-33, 53-29 and 44-38. The last time they did not was the horrific season of 2019-2020, when they won just 15 games.

Thriller on Opening Night

We are expecting a thriller on opening night. The Warriors are the older version of the Suns. The Suns have three guys that can take over the game at any night. The return of Kevin Durant and the revenge factor for Chris Paul with the Warriors.

A ton of storylines, but in the end, the better team here is the Phoenix Suns. The Suns win on the road and cover. Take Phoenix -1.5 over the Warriors on Tuesday!
