The Philadelphia Eagles are coming into the game on a major struggle. The Eagles have dropped five out of their last six games, and lost their chance to win the NFC East. Philadelphia lost in Week 18 to the New York Giants. The Eagles won the NFC a season ago as the top seed.
For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they are 9-8. The Buccaneers won the tiebreaker in the standings over the New Orleans Saints for the NFC South title. Tampa Bay needed a Week 18 win over Carolina to clinch their spot.
The Buccaneers, despite being at home, are underdogs here. The Eagles are listed at -3 over Tampa Bay.
Home Sweet Home
Tampa Bay is excited about getting this game at their own stadium on Monday Night Football. Now, it’s time for Todd Bowles’ team to perform. The Buccaneers have won three out of their last four games at home. The last home loss was in Week 17 when the Saints held them to just 13 points.
The Buccaneers as a team are scoring 20.5 points per game. The defense is allowing teams to score 19.1 per game. Offensively, Tampa Bay is 17th in passing yards with more than 224 per game. The run game has not been as strong, as they are dead last, with just 88.8 yards per game.
Mike Evans was one of the top receivers in all of the National Football League this season. The receiver caught 79 passes for more than 1,250 yards and 13 touchdowns. Chris Godwin also went over 1,000 yards on the season. Baker Mayfield threw 566 of the team’s 568 passes this season.
Hot Seat for Siriani?
There is talk about Nick Siriani being on the “hot seat” as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. Keep in mind, this guy is less than a season removed from going to the Super Bowl with this franchise. The Eagles tanked in December, and they looked bad to start January.
In losses to the 49ers, Cowboys, Seahawks, Cardinals and Giants, the Eagles allowed 157 points in those five games. Philadelphia fell to 30th in the National Football League, allowing more than 25 points per game. Thankfully the offense was strong most of the season, ranking 7th in points scored.
Jalen Hurts rushed for 15 touchdowns and tossed for 23, but his 15 interceptions and 5 fumbles lost were killers for the team. AJ Brown had a banner season, falling 44 yards shy of 1,500 on the season. The run game, outside of Hurts, is led by Deandre Swift. Swift had over 1,000 yards on the ground, and five touchdowns.

The Eagles are going to bounce back and win the first round of the postseason. This is going to get them an opportunity to take on either the Cowboys or the 49ers in the next round.
