Philadelphia 76ers 2024

The big story right now is the status of their big man Joel Embiid. The 76ers have played 46 games, and Embiid has already missed 12 of them. He is nursing a knee injury. He played in the loss to Golden State, but scored just 14 points. On the season, he is scoring 35.3 points per game, and recording 11.3 rebounds per game.

Tyrese Maxey is also banged up. He has not played since the trip to Indiana on January 25th. He has an ankle injury. Maxey is second in scoring with 25.7 points per game, and 6.6 assists. With those two banged up, the 76ers are turning to Tobias Harris more. Harris scored 26 and had 10 rebounds in the loss at Golden State.

Philadelphia will host the Nets, Mavericks, Warriors and Hawks in their next four games in an effort to get healthy and back on track. The next time after this game that the 76ers are on the road is February 10th at Washington.

Utah Jazz 2024

In back to back games, the Utah Jazz are allowing 132.5 points per game on the defensive side. That is going to have to be fixed if they want a chance in the Western Conference postseason push. The Jazz, as a team are scoring 117.5 points pre game, which is 11th in all of the league.

Lauri Markkanen is the top scorer for Utah. He had just 14 in the loss at the Knicks. On the season though, he is scoring 23.5 points per game. Utah has six guys scoring double digits per game. Jordan Clarkson and Collin Sexton are next for Utah, with just over 17 points per game.

Utah is in a tough stretch. The Jazz will host the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday and the Oklahoma City Thunder on  February 6th. After that, Utah goes on the road for a game at the Suns, before hosting five more games in a row, with the Warriors, Lakers, Warriors, Hornets and Spurs.

76ers Clock Jazz

The Philadelphia 76ers need to get back on track. But, without their star big man, that could be tough. Embiid was ruled out and Maxey is a game time decision. Utah has been struggling a bit as of late, but against a shorthanded Philadelphia team, the Jazz win.  When push comes to shove, take Utah -4.5 over Philadelphia on Thursday!
