Ole Miss Rebels at Tulane Green Wave Betting Preview

Two up-and-coming College Football teams will get together on Saturday in a game between two ranked teams. The Ole Miss Rebels are on the road at the Tulane Green Wave. In the latest Associated Press poll, the Ole Miss Rebels were ranked 20th. The Tulane Green Wave came in at 24.

Both teams are coming off big wins in Week One. This is a rematch of a game the Green Wave did not forget about a season ago. Ole Miss beat them 51-21 in Oxford just under a year ago. Ole Miss is the favorite in this game. The Rebels are listed at -7.5, with a total listed at 65.5.

Rebels Offense Looking Ready in 2023

Lane Kiffin and his Ole Miss Rebels scored and did not stop scoring in their Week One win over Mercer. The Rebels scored 73 points. That’s the third most in College Football through Week 1. In the win, the Rebels tossed for 524 yards. Jaxson Dart, the quarterback, finished with 334 yards and four touchdowns. Tre Harris caught four touchdown passes and finished with 133 receiving yards.

On the ground, Quinshon Judkins was solid, with 13 carries, 60 yards and two scores. The Rebels scored 38 first-half points and backed it up with 35 in the second half. The lone touchdown they allowed in the game was in the first quarter.

The Rebels will get a home matchup against Georgia Tech next week and then see some challenges on the schedule. Ole Miss makes a Week Four trip to Alabama and hosts LSU in Week Five. After that, Arkansas comes to town, so the Rebels must be ready to play.

Tulane Building Excitement

After a very successful 2022 season for the Tulane Green Wave, they are looking to build on that this season. In Willie Fritz’s 7th season at the helm, the Green Wave finished 12-2 and 7-1 in AAC play. The Green Wave smacked Central Florida in the conference title game and then outscored USC 46-45 in the Cotton Bowl. The two losses came at home to Southern Miss by three and UCF by a touchdown.

The Green Wave lost Tyjae Spears, the top running back from a season ago, but are hoping Makhi Hughes or even Shedro Louis can start to carry that load. The running game was not strong in the Week One win. Michael Pratt returns under center for the Green Wave. He was strong, competing 14 of 15 passes for 294 yards and four touchdowns. Pratt’s top target in the game was Jha’Quan Jackson. Jackson caught three passes for 106 yards and two scores. Lawrence Keys III and Charis Brazzell II also scored a receiving touchdown in the game.

The Green Wave host Nicholls and UAB in their next two games before playing at Memphis.

Thriller in New Orleans

The Tulane Green Wave will be ready to come out and fight in this game. The Green Wave has developed quite the program over the last few years in College Football. These two programs are none too fond of each other, with only five hours separating them. The South loves their football, and both programs want to be listed with the big boys. The problem here is Lane Kiffin has more talent.

The Ole Miss Rebels will be a problem all season long for opponents. The spread is 7.5, and that does not seem like enough. Tulane will have to play a flawless game to win this game. We do not see it happening. Bet the Ole Miss Rebels to win this game and cover the spread. We will predict Ole Miss 38-21 over Tulane on Saturday.
