The Monday Night Football affair for Week 8 features the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs. This is a battle of a pair of AFC West teams. The Kansas City Chiefs are at home, and looking to extend their divisional lead. The Chiefs are coming off their Thursday night loss to the Oakland Raiders which followed their loss at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kansas City is 5-2.
The Denver Broncos are going through some big time struggles. The Broncos have dropped to 3-3 after back to back losses against the New York Giants and Los Angeles Chargers. Denver has yet to win a game on the road this season. The Kansas City Chiefs are big favorites in this game. The Chiefs are -7 over the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football.
Chiefs Looking to Avoid Third Straight
The Kansas City Chiefs started the season with wins over the Patriots, Eagles, Chargers, Redskins and Texans. That’s three pretty good teams, and a couple decent teams. In the five wins, the Chiefs scored 27 or more in four out of five of those games. Since then, the Chiefs are averaging 22 points per game. Kansas City on the season is 2nd with just shy of 30 points per game.
Tyreek Hill and Kareem Hunt are the two explosive offensive players for Kansas CIty. Those two are combining for more than 1,200 yards and 7 touchdowns on the season. Kansas City is in the Top 10 in passing and rushing yards. On the season they combine for just over 390 yards per game.
Denver Offense has Gone Missing
The Denver Broncos offense has gone missing. Denver has scored just 10 points in their last two games. On Sunday in the loss to the Chargers, Denver was shut out for just the first time since 1992. The Broncos before that game had the longest streak in all of the National Football League in not being shut out. Indianapolis was the second, and they also were shut out.
Denver started the season with wins over the Chargers and Cowboys. A road loss at Buffalo was their first, but it was backed up with a home win over the Raiders. Since then, the Giants and the Chargers beat Denver. The Broncos have tough sledding coming up as they are at the Eagles following this, then host the New England Patriots.
Chiefs Whip Broncos
Alex Smith and the Kansas City offense is going to have no problem with a Denver defense that has been put to the test a bunch lately. Injuries and tired bodies are dooming the Broncos defense, and this is going to be another poor performance. Look for Kansas City to put a hurting on them.
The Denver offense has some work to do. No matter who is the quarterback, the talent around is not good enough to be a postseason contender. The Chiefs defense will have their way with the Broncos offense. The final bet for this game is the Kansas City Chiefs -7 over the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football.
