New England Patriots at New York Jets Betting Preview

The season could not be going better for the New England Patriots if they tried any harder, as they have remained undefeated through their first six games. Their strength of schedule has been pretty easy to date, but they are capitalizing on their situation, and they never seem to fall for trap games. When they last met the New York Jets a few weeks ago, they destroyed the Luke Falk-led group in a game that Jets fans probably want to forget about. The Patriots are aiming to remain as the AFC’s only undefeated team.

Adam Gase’s team finally got its first win of the year last week, taking down the Cowboys in the return of Sam Darnold. He played a big game to help his team to the win, and It’s good to see the Jets finally get into the win column. They are still waiting for Le’Veon Bell to burst through with some big gains, but he has yet to have any big plays. He is touching the ball 30 to 35 times a game, but without an O-line to block for them, it isn’t working out.

The spread for Monday night’s primetime showdown favors the Patriots by nine. The over/under is set at 43.5.

Patriots Look To Stay Perfect

The Patriots are leading the league with their 32 points per game, while simultaneously allowing the fewest points in the league at just eight per. Tom Brady has completed 65.4 percent of his passes with 10 TDs to just three picks thus far. As he continues to age, his game is just not dropping off. To all of the analysts who believe that a decline is coming, they really don’t know the half of it. Sony Michel has been doing a good job of gaining yards and scoring TDs on the ground, while they have new receivers stepping up to the plate each and every week.

New England already has 25 sacks through six games while picking off 14 different passes of opposing QBs. The Patriots have forced three additional turnovers off of fumbles.

Jets Try To Gain Some Momentum

In its win over the Cowboys last week, New York finally topped the 20-point mark for the first time this season and found the end zone with consistency. Darnold looked very good, and if that is going to be the case, then all hope may not be lost yet. Surprisingly, they would have a better record than the Chargers if they can come away with a win in their next game. They have a pretty talented roster, but if the O-line cannot protect and the receivers and tight ends cannot deliver large-enough blocks, none of it will really matter.

The Jets defense has playmakers all across the board who have just been getting outworked. If they can play a little harder, they might be able to turn it around.

The trip to New Jersey will be a good one for New England as Brady lifts his team to a win.
