NCAA Football Week 6 Comes to a Close

Week 6 of the College Football season has come and gone, and once again – we saw some great results, with some excellent finishes and a couple of upsets on the slate.

Let’s take a look at some of the best games of the Week 6 slate.

Red River Rivalry Lives Up to Hype

The Red River Rivalry was early in the game, and it took all 60 minutes. The Oklahoma Sooners trailed late in the game but scored the go-ahead touchdown with Daniel Gabriel tossing a touchdown pass with 0:15 left. It was the lone touchdown pass of the day for Gabriel. The Sooners won 38-35 and remained unbeaten, giving Texas their first season loss.

In one of the wildest games of the day – the LSU Tigers went on the road and beat the Missouri Tigers. LSU and Missouri scored a combined 46 points in the second half.

LSU scored a touchdown with just under 3:00 to go in the game to take the lead and then got an interception return for a touchdown to seal the deal in the final minute. It was the first loss of the season for Missouri.

An upset, albeit maybe not a big one, was the Louisville Cardinals smashing the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The game was tied 7-7 at halftime, but the Cardinals scored 23 of the final 29 points to stay unbeaten. The loss for the Irish was their second of the season and pushed them out of the national title picture.

Buckeyes and Crimson Tide Winners

The Ohio State Buckeyes started slow. Really slow – trailing 17-10 midway through the third quarter at home against Maryland. The Buckeyes then scored the final 27 points of the game to beat the Terrapins. The win for Ohio State kept them unbeaten on the season.

The 11th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide dodged a bullet and went on the road and beat the Texas A+M Aggies. It was a low-scoring game, with just five points in the fourth quarter of the game. The Crimson Tide has won four in a row and appears on track to get back in the National title picture.

North Carolina blitzed the Syracuse Orange. The Tar Heels continue to pour offense in this season. Drake Maye tossed for 442 yards and three touchdowns in the game. The Orange have now lost back-to-back games, while the Tar Heels are now 5-0 on the season.

Two late games last night saw the Miami Hurricanes blowing a late lead and falling at home to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 23-20. Just taking a knee would have won the game, but the Hurricanes fumbled and lost the game.

It was their first loss of the season. The final game went three overtime, as the USC Trojans beat the Arizona Wildcats 43-41. The win for the Trojans saved their College Football Playoff chances. The Trojans need a stop in the third overtime to finish the job.

Week 7 Slate Arrives

Now, it’s time to turn our attention to the Week 7 slate of College Football. The best game of the week will feature a pair of ranked Pac-12 teams, as the Oregon Ducks are on the road at the Washington Huskies.

Both teams are unbeaten, fighting for the top spot in the conference standings, and have an outside chance at the College Football playoff.

The USC Trojans are on the road at the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in another game featuring a pair of Top 10 teams. This is a massive game for teams and big-time rivals over the years. South Bend will be ready for Lincoln Riley, Caleb Williams, and the Trojans to enter town.

The Missouri Tigers and Kentucky Wildcats will get together in Lexington. This is a battle of teams ranked before losing this past weekend.

Finally, the Miami Hurricanes are at the North Carolina Tar Heels. While the Hurricanes are no longer unbeaten, they are taking on a Tar Heels team that still is.

We hope you enjoyed the Week 6 action and wish you the best of luck with all your Week 7 betting!
