The National Football League will see the start of training camp at the end of the month. Just a month from now, we will start getting exhibition games, and then two months, we will see the start of the season. It’s never too early to start looking at some of the best games in Week 1 of the National Football League season:
Detroit Lions +6.5 at Kansas City Chiefs, 54
The Detroit Lions are a team that feel they can reach the postseason in 2023. Dan Campbell and his squad were close a season ago, and they only appear to be getting better. The NFC North is open with Aaron Rodgers leaving the division. But, week 1 is a tough time to put that statement out there, against the Super Bowl Champion. Patrick Mahomes is back for another season, and seeking his third title. The Chiefs are going to want to get off to a quick start, especially the night they raise the banner. Detroit should keep this close, but it’s hard to pick against Kansas City.
Miami Dolphins +2.5 at Los Angeles Chargers, 50
The AFC is loaded. The Kansas City Chiefs are two time Super Bowl Champions. The Bengals are a year removed from playing in the big game, and Buffalo has Josh Allen, and look like they could win it all every year. Then you got these two teams. Both knocking at the door of both their division and the AFC. Tua against Herbert. This should be a fun game, as it is every time they get together. The Chargers want to make sure they get off to a winning start at home, but what can Coach McDaniel draw up for his road warriors in this game?
Dallas Cowboys -3.5 at New York Giants, 47.5
Right off the bat we get a primetime game featuring a pair of NFC East teams. The Dallas Cowboys do not get a chance to start at home, instead, they get a trip to New York in primetime. The Giants were a contender for much of last season, but how flukey was that. The Cowboys have the pieces, but how will they fill in the puzzle at the running back position. Can the defense continue to force teams to turn the ball over? Several big questions, but this is a great opportunity for New York to shine in front of home fans.
Buffalo Bills -1.5 at New York Jets, 47
Oh man, Aaron Rodgers first regular season game for the New York Jets comes against the divisional favorite. Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills have to start the season on the road, and on Monday Night Football. Allen is not going to want to hear all the talk about Rodgers leading up to this game. The veteran is going to make the Jets offense look better, but in the end, the Bills are the better team. Oddsmakers have made this game pretty sexy to look at, giving the Bills just 1.5 points
