In the NFL’s final week of the preseason, an inter-conference matchup will take place in the Mile-High City between the Minnesota Vikings (0-2) and the Denver Broncos (1-1).
San Francisco defeated Minnesota 17-7 at home in their previous preseason game last Saturday. Buffalo defeated Denver 42-15 in their most recent preseason game on the road last Saturday.
Both teams will feature a roster of position battles, and this should be a fun game to watch. The Vikings are -1 (-110) favorites on the road, while the Broncos are +1 (-110) underdogs. With the point total set at 33.5, the Vikings will be -125 favorites on the moneyline, with Denver being the +100 underdog.
Vikings Looking For First Preseason Win
The Vikings have dropped their first two preseason games of the season, and they will look for their first win on the road. As they finish the preseason in Denver, the Vikings want to bounce back from their opening-week preseason defeats. Against the 49ers, they couldn’t get going on both sides of the ball.
Minnesota’s offense was terrible; they were outgained by the opposition 344 to 195 in offensive yards. Additionally, they picked up just 13 first downs while giving up 21, and their possession time was dominated from 37:45 to 22:15. The Broncos were outgained 510-274 in total offense and only scored 15 points in the game. Denver needs to tighten up defensively as they surrendered 42 points.
On the defensive side of the ball, there are some positional battles that could elevate this defense in this contest. Denver has a plethora of young players vying for spots at linebacker and in the secondary. For that reason, they should play a lot better, especially if they are seeing second and third teamers for Minnesota.
