Milwaukee Brewers at Cincinnati Reds Betting Preview

In the middle game of a three-game series; the Milwaukee Brewers will play at the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday. The Brewers picked up a huge win on Friday, 1-0 over the Reds.

The win for the Brewers pushed them to 50-42, while the loss for the Reds dropped them to 50-42. The team teams are tied at the top of the National League Central with 70 games to play in 2023.

The Reds are favorites in this game at home. Despite having a rookie pitcher on the mound, Cincinnati comes in at -120 over Milwaukee. The Brewers are +100. The total for this game between these two National League Central leaders is set at 9.5 runs.

Brewers Big Win ties Division

Victor Caratini drove in the only run of the game on Friday with a single in the 7th inning. The star of the game went to ace starting pitcher Corbin Burnes, who struck out 13 Reds over six innings. Burnes allowed just two hits in the game. He has now struck out 23 batters over his last three starts.

Freddy Peralta will get the baseball for Milwaukee in this one. The veteran is 5-7 on the season, with a 4.70 earned run average. Peralta last pitched on July 6th against the Cubs. In that game, he went 5.1 innings, allowing four hits and three earned runs. Peralta has allowed three runs in each of his last three starts.

Reds Send Rookie Lefthander

Andrew Abbott will get the ball for Cincinnati. The 24-year-old lefthanded rookie is having a solid first season for the Reds. Abbott is 4-1 on the season with a 2.38 earned run average.

He has 48 strikeouts in over 41 innings. His last start before the break was against Milwaukee, where he was roughed up for nine hits and six earned runs over 4.1 innings.

While the Reds struggle offensively on Friday, overall, this team has not had too many struggles as of late. The Reds did get shut out by the Brewers in the final game before the break as well.

Cincinnati is led by several youngsters having big seasons. Spencer Steer leads the team with 14 home runs and also 19 doubles. Jake Fraley is the top RBI guy for Cincinnati, with 52.

Elly De La Cruz has come over and been the talk of the town for Cincinnati. The rookie stole three bases on two pitches in Milwaukee last week. De La Cruz already has 16 stolen bases in 31 games played this season. De La Cruz struggled against Burnes on Friday, striking out all three times at the plate.

Brewers Take Over First Place

Look for this to be a pretty good game between these two teams. In the end, though, despite Abbott going, we are going to go with the veteran pitcher. The Milwaukee Brewers grab this game on Saturday over Cincinnati. Betting the Brewers +100 is the way to go here.
