Miami Heat vs. Milwaukee Bucks Game 1 Betting Preview

In the first game of the East semis, the Heat and Bucks will meet, both teams four games away from the conference finals. Their battle on Monday will kick off a very competitive series. Miami could give the Bucks fits with their depth and positional versatility.

The Heat took care of the Pacers without a problem, and now that they are back in the second round for the first time in five years, the real test begins. Can they take down the NBA’s best team? Giannis Antetokounmpo will have to be guarded by the situation, but they would be best off playing Bam Adebayo on him.

Milwaukee, on the other hand, is feeling emboldened. They led the charge of protesting games for social injustice, which the other NBA teams followed suit with, along with the MLB, WNBA, and NHL. The games aren’t the most important things for them, but they are now as unified as a team as ever.

It will take a lot to break them or shake their confidence at all. This will serve in their favor against a very gritty Miami team.

ODDS:

The Bucks are 5.5-point favorites in the series opener. The over/under is set at 223.

Miami Looks to Take Down Big Dogs

Milwaukee is the big kahuna in the East, and everyone is gunning for them. But any of the four teams left in the East have a legitimate shot at winning the conference. This has not been the case since before LeBron went to the Heat. The parity at the top is a welcomed change.

Led by Jimmy Butler and Adebayo, the dangerous Heat are changing things every game. You never know if it will be Tyler Herro, Jae Crowder, Goran Dragic, or even Andre Iguodala that beats you in a given game. And the return of Kendrick Nunn gives them another scoring punch.

Their depth is fantastic, and every player on the floor can score. Let’s not forget Duncan Robinson, who is shooting it as Ray Allen used to, this year. One of the best we’ve ever seen.

Bucks Looking For 1-0 Lead

In round one, they dropped their opening game to the Magic. And in a hard-fought series, they were able to take the next four games. They are probably better for that one loss, as they had to then reevaluate the gameplan and check for flaws.

Led by the DPOY Antetokounmpo, the team had the best record for the second year in a row. Only this time, they hope to make a run at the title. Not having “home court” will hurt, but it will come down to poise with every team on a level playing field.

They’ll need more from Khris Middleton, who has failed to effectively score in 19 of 20 quarters this postseason. If he doesn’t come to play and prove to be a reliable second option, they may be in trouble.
