Miami Heat at Boston Celtics Betting Pick and Prediction

Miami just dominated the Bulls in their last game for D-Wade’s final trip to the place he grew up. And now they face a matchup with a Celtics team who are quite a bit more talented and well-coached than Chicago.

Boston is looking to get it rolling following their last win against the Hawks. They are almost fully healthy and have a very impressive bench. They are constantly changing the lineup that closes games for them, but with all their talent we expect a lot of wins.

Heat:

This is a very mediocre team who relies on their defense to win most of their games. They score the 26th most points of the NBA, scoring just 106 a night. They allow the fourth-fewest points in the league at 105.8 a night and are #7 in defensive rating. They are #6 in the league in attendance, in large part thanks to this being the final season of D-Wade in the NBA. He’s #3 on the team with a 14.0 points per game average, flanked by four rebounds and four assists. Despite only having Goran Dragic for 14 games this year, they are staying competitive.

Point-Winslow has been a very successful experiment, as he has posted various 10+ assist nights and is averaging 12-5-4 per game, shooting 43% from the floor and 38% from three. They continue to give minimal minutes to Hassan Whiteside, clearly preferring Bam Adebayo. That contract is untradeable as long as they don’t give him enough run.

Celtics:

Overall, this is a team that is middle-of-the-pack (#14) in points scored. The offense features a lot of guys who can score, but being #5 in points allowed is the real story with this team. Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown all do a tremendous job on the perimeter and play a big role on the defensive side of the ball. It also helps to have a player with talent like Gordon Hayward as your sixth man, as he’s gotten better throughout the year, averaging 11-5-4 per game.

The truth of the matter, though, is that this team goes as Kyrie does. Having a magnificent year, and shooting 50% from the floor (41% from three), he’s averaging 23 points, five boards, two steals, and seven assists per game. It’s truly been something else, watching him shine as brightly as he has. With five other guys scoring in double figures every night, they get offense from various sources, and when a play breaks down, have a number of options.

Miami gets it done on the road

Riding with the Heat in this Boston showdown! This is considered an upset, and it will be D-Wade, helping the team to the win in the closing seconds, lifting them back over .500. They have been much better of late, and the defense of Richardson and Justise Winslow will be huge.

Kyrie won’t be able to help his guys to the W today.
