For the defending Super Bowl champs, it has been a heck of a ride this season, filled with anguish and turmoil at every corner.
These Los Angeles Rams will bear the brunt of going into Kansas City to take on the Chiefs, who seem to finally be clicking on all cylinders.
A couple of big news items for skill players came out before kickoff, including the release of running back Darrell Henderson for the Rams and Clyde Edwards-Helaire being placed on IR for the Chiefs.
This is shaping up to be one of the toughest matchups of the year for the Rams, as they are down just about every skill player and potentially will be without Matthew Stafford after he is being evaluated for a concussion.
As such, this game brings us likely one of the largest spreads that we will see all season, with the Chiefs being favored at home over the Rams at -14.5.
Cut your losses and prepare for the years to come ahead
Already the Rams were putting themselves into a tough spot, but now they are so far gone when it comes to injuries that this season isn’t even worth it anymore.
At this point, they might look at what they can get for some of their better players, as most of who they have left on their roster have struggled this season.
That said, there is still a game to be played, and their defense has more of a chance than anything to at least try to limit what the Chiefs like to do.
It is hard to believe that the Rams are featuring a lot of the key guys that we saw just last season go the distance.
Look out for the best team in the league
At this point, it should be no surprise that any team led by Patrick Mahomes is going to be contending near the top of the league.
So much has been discussed about the loss of Tyreek Hill, but it is time to focus on all of the players that are still present on the roster.
The defensive front is nasty, and they have been able to stop just about any offense that has been placed in front of them.
With that said, look at the season Travis Kelce is having, and it is a constant reminder of why he is one of the greatest tight ends of all time.

These two teams could not be on further ends away from each. The Rams have lost all of their momentum from their Super Bowl victory, while the Chiefs have retooled and reinvented their team to be one of the best in the NFL.
The spread itself is a massive one, but there is no way the Chiefs are unable to take care of business here on their home field.
