We have one of the best hockey games of the night on Tuesday as the Los Angeles Kings will be taking on the Carolina Hurricanes. Both the Hurricanes and the Kings have been two of the better teams in hockey this season, and that’s going to lead to one of the best games of the entire week. Los Angeles is currently 28-18-6 and has 62 points on the season. Carolina, on the other hand, comes into this one with the most points in the Metropolitan Division at 32-9-8 and 72 points.
Will Hurricanes Win a Big Favorite?
With the way that the Hurricanes have been playing this season, it’s tough to say that any team in hockey has truly been better than them. Although there are a few teams that they have struggled against for parts throughout the season, outside of the Boston Bruins, they truly might be the best team in the NHL right now. They’ve also been playing extremely well throughout their last 10 games, as they’re currently 7-1-2 in that span and have also won five games in a row.
It’s a bit surprising why they come in at -210 on the moneyline, but that doesn’t necessarily mean too much, considering that they should be able to come away with this win, and we can always make a better bet here. If they want to continue winning games at an elite level, it’s all going to have to continue starting with what they’re doing in the net. They’ve only given up more than two goals once in this five-game winning streak, and that’s going to continue to be the recipe for success with this team.
The Kings are Getting Disrespected
The Los Angeles Kings might be getting a bit disrespected here. Although they’re just 6-4 in their last 10 games and did lose their most recent game, they’ve had some impressive wins throughout the year against the Florida Panthers, Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers, and Vegas Golden Knights. That has all been just in this month, and if the Kings can continue doing things like that, there’s no reason why they can’t win this game tonight.
For them, it’s going to start on the offensive side of the puck. When this team can score four-plus goals in a game, they typically find a way to win. They’ve had some impressive games throughout the past few weeks, as they’ve been able to score more than five in multiple games against some high-level opponents. They need to continue doing that against a Carolina team that does defend at an elite level.
Los Angeles Kings vs. Carolina Hurricanes Prediction
Although this line is a bit interesting to me, I do believe that it is trying to tell us something here. Los Angeles has been very good this season as well, so it is somewhat surprising to see them coming in as such an underdog on the moneyline. Because of that, I don’t think it’s a crazy idea to take them on the 60 Minute line at -130. 60 Minute lines are a bit interesting in the NHL, but I believe that this line is trying to tell us something here, and that’s the fact that the Hurricanes are going to win this game.
