Los Angeles Chargers at Las Vegas Raiders Betting Preview

The Los Angeles Chargers are ready to face the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday in a game with a lot of playoff pull. For the Bolts, they are all but done at 4-9. But they can really play spoiler for a team inside of their division.

A win for the Chargers could play a significant role in keeping the Raiders out of the postseason. They have struggled to close out games this year, as they have in the past several years. But these Chargers find themselves with a chance to win almost every week.

That should be no different as we enter Week 15 of the NFL season. The only question is if they can finally close out a game as they did against Atlanta last week.

The Raiders were 6-3 but then dropped three of four games. Last year, they were 6-4, then lost five out of six games to conclude that season.

So, the odds right now would point toward another late-season meltdown. A loss in Thursday’s contest would be a crushing blow. And it might even make Jon Gruden’s seat just a little hot.

ODDS:

The spread for Thursday night favors Las Vegas by 3.5 points. The over/under is set at 53.

Bolts Looking to Play Spoiler

With Justin Herbert as their quarterback, the Chargers’ future is looking very bright. They have some great talent around him and will not have any problems competing for a playoff spot in 2021. But a losing season has already been clinched, so finishing on a high note to improve morale is the goal.

What better way to do that than beating your division rival? The Raiders have a chance to keep pace within the AFC by getting this win.

The Chargers have a great opportunity to deny them the potential for a playoff run. And betting on them could actually be a smart move.

Las Vegas is not equipped to slow Herbert down, so watch for him to have a huge performance. I’d say 350 yards and a couple of scores should do. Start him in fantasy, if you have him.

Can the Raiders Win the Big One?

When was the last time we saw the Raiders win a must-have game? Not since they were in Oakland. Not since Jack Del Rio was the coach.

And, honestly, perhaps not since before they took JaMarcus Russell in 2007. Losing Derek Carr a few years back led to a first-round exit. They lost the big one.

At 7-6, the odds are now against Las Vegas. But this team might be different than those of their past. It’s tough because if they played in the NFC, a playoff appearance would be likely.

But that isn’t the case. You have to deal with the present circumstance. Carr needs to have a big game, and Josh Jacobs needs to pick up big yards.

It will be all about the offense, the defense not likely to decide the game.

Chargers Steal a Win

They aren’t favored and are 4-9. But the Bolts just picked up a second win in a row. Bet them as underdogs!
