Los Angeles Chargers at Las Vegas Raiders Betting Preview – Week 15

The Thursday Night Football game will feature the Los Angeles Chargers on the road at the Las Vegas Raiders. This is the start of Week 15. Both teams come into the game with 5-8 records, and neither team is going to the postseason. The Chargers are coming off a tough loss at home to the Denver Broncos. Los Angeles is scoring just 6.5 points over their last two games.

For the Raiders, they have dropped three straight games. Las Vegas played in the lowest scoring National Football League game in 16 seasons, as they fell at home to the Minnesota Vikings 3-0. The lone field goal came with 2:00 to go in the game. The Raiders are favorites in this game, listed at -3.

Questionable Status

Both teams have injuries like crazy. Before we start, these guys are questionable for this game, especially with the game being played early in the week: Justin Herbert for the Los Angeles Chargers. The signal caller fractured his right index finger and was replaced by Easton Stick. With the Chargers basically eliminated from postseason play, while not officially, pretty much – we do not expect Los Angeles to rush him back.

Josh Jacobs for the Raiders. The running back, who led the league in yards as season ago, limped off the field and did not return. This is another expectation of a short turn around, and not postseason lives at stake, we expect Jacobs to sit for the home team.

Backup Quarterbacks Name of the Game

For Los Angeles, Justin Herbert will likely have to end his streak of 62 straight starts. That means it will be Easton Stick under center for the Chargers. Stick came into the game and was unable to throw a touchdown on 13 of 24 passing for 179 yards. Stick will have his weapons, as Keenan Allen, Austin Ekeler and Quentin Johnston are all expected to play. Rookie Johnston led the team last week, with just shy of 100 yards.

On the Las Vegas side, interim head coach Antonio Pierce is likely to go back with Aidan O’Connell under center. The former Purdue signal caller started as the backup for Jimmy  Garoppolo. Brian Hoyer also got an opportunity there. No matter who has been at quarterback, it has been a struggle. The position has accounted for 11 touchdowns and 18 interceptions this season.

Adams vs. Allen

Davante Adams is on one side of the field for the Las Vegas Raiders. Keenan Allen is on the other side of the field for the Los Angeles Chargers. Both of these guys are special talents and the top offensive threat for their team. Adams needs 133 receiving yards to reach 1,000 on the season. He has four touchdowns, which is second to Jakobi Meyers. For Allen, despite his team struggles, he has been effective. Allen has 108 receptions for 1,243 yards and 7 touchdowns. Look for the receiver to aim to grab the final 257 yards to reach 1,500 on the season.

Raiders Top Chargers at Home

Neither team is playing very strong football right now. Neither team is very good. The Raiders seem to be playing a little more inspired, but just can’t find ways to win. The Chargers have pretty much called it quits. Will this be the loss that fires Brandon Staley as the head coach? The Raiders win this game at home. Take Las Vegas -3 over Los Angeles. Enjoy the game and best of luck betting this game, and all the Week 15 action!
