Another win for the Las Vegas Raiders puts them in an interesting position to close the rest of the season. Thursday Night Football will feature the Raiders on the road taking on the reeling Los Angeles Rams.
Despite missing most of their best players, the Rams were able to play their matchup against the Seahawks tough. It certainly wasn’t the prettiest game, but it showed that they are not completely giving up on the season yet.
In all honesty, the Rams don’t really have much of any reason to punt on the season, as they owe their first-round draft pick to the Detroit Lions in 2023.
The Raiders are a team that is desperate for wins. After dropping many of their opening games, they have been able to put together the pieces of the puzzle and are now a frisky team.
Ahead of this game, the Raiders are a road favorite over the Rams at -4.5.
Is it too little too late for Las Vegas?
With their win on Sunday, the Raiders now boast a 3-2 record in the AFC West and absolutely look like the second best team behind Kansas City.
With so many losses to start the year, they are not mathematically eliminated yet, but they are likely needed to win out in order to grab a wild card playoff spot.
A matchup in Los Angeles will do them some good. With the roots their team has in the state of California, the Raiders will likely see many of their fans come out for this game.
With the explosive one-two punch on offense of Josh Jacobs and Davante Adams, the Raiders really have the necessary tools to beat anyone in the league.
Turning the page to a new chapter in Los Angeles
After giving up nearly all of their draft capital for the last couple of seasons, the Los Angeles Rams made it to the top of the mountain and won a Super Bowl.
The bigger the climb the longer the fall is going to be, and that is what is unfolding for their franchise before our eyes.
Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp are nursing injuries and are on injured reserve for pretty much the rest of the season.
That leaves plenty of room for backups to come in and try and make a name for themselves and hold their roster spots for the upcoming seasons.
