Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers Betting Preview

Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers Betting Preview

The AFC West is an elite-looking division in 2021. This is something of a surprise, and also kind of interesting. The Broncos started 3-0 but lost to Baltimore. K.C. is 2-2. And now the Raiders and Chargers will battle Monday at SoFi stadium, looking to keep things moving. The winner will have a lot to brag about.

Las Vegas is 3-0 to begin the year, with wins over Baltimore, Miami, and Pittsburgh. All of them have been relatively close, but they hope that they can be different. Their QB, Derek Carr, has been one of the best stories in the league thus far. For the prior couple of years, they underachieved greatly, and now they are finally showing the league what they are made of.

On the other end, L.A. beat the Chiefs a week ago to get to 2-1. They play hard and have an offense few teams can truly stop. They have a lot to be thankful for, considering how unlucky they have been in the past several years. They always lose close games, by some measure or another.

This is a game that everybody should be watching. They are tough outs and fighting to move into a tie with Denver atop the division. As of now, the only 4-0 team is the Cardinals.

Betting Odds & Lines

The spread for Monday night is set at LAC -3. The over/under is 51.5 points. The LV moneyline is +145, and the L.A. moneyline is -175.

Raiders Seeking 4-0 Start

Las Vegas has not been lucky in past years. In the days of being the Oakland Raiders, things just went wrong. One way or another, something always got in the way, and slow start or fast start, the year never ended well. At 3-0, they are trying to change the narrative surrounding them.

Derek Carr is averaging 401 passing yards per game this season, and the fact that they have gone 2-0 without Josh Jacobs in the backfield is incredible. Peyton Barber is continuing to churn out yards while Kenyan Drake is catching all the passes.

The defense will have its hands full, so let’s see how it goes for them.

Bolts Seeking Another Big Win

3-1 is the worst record you would expect a team with L.A.’s talent to have at any point in the past decade and a half. They are always competent and have had great QB play each season between Justin Herbert and Philip Rivers. But they just have the worst luck.

Brandon Staley’s team is off to a good start this season, and they will be looking to keep things rolling. Beating K.C. barely happened, and it took every second of the game for them to hold on. They made some bold decisions that did wind up paying off for the better. The Week 2 loss to Dallas doesn’t look as bad with them now at 3-1.

They will need their cornerbacks to watch Henry Ruggs and Bryan Edwards on the deep balls. They can’t afford to get burned there.

Bolts

Las Vegas will put up a good fight. But they will fall short. That’s all there is to it.
