Of all the good games on the deck for Week 15 of the regular season, the AFC matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans is near the bottom of the list.
The Chiefs have produced one of the best offenses in the league thanks to Patrick Mahomes, and his level of play has elevated all of the players around him.
Houston has yet to win a game at home, though they did end up with a tie. They are currently in the middle of an eight game losing streak.
After managing to put Dallas on the fritz and play them down to the wire, the Texans still don’t have much of a hope in this contest, save for forcing a few lucky turnovers.
With so much energy poured into the last contest against their in-state rival, the Texans will likely come out flat in this one.
The Chiefs are a heavy road favorite over the Texans at -12.5.
A magical MVP season from Patrick Mahomes
While surely Patrick Mahomes enjoys individual achievements in his career, his ultimate goal is focused on winning his second Super Bowl.
The team has been molded differently this season compared to years past. With a strong defense behind Mahomes, they don’t rely as heavily on their offense to win every single game.
Key stops have been a feature of the Chiefs all season, but they are no stranger to offensive explosions either.
In a matchup in the Houston dome against a bad Texans’ defense, the Chiefs will look to score early and to score often so they can put this one away before halftime.
A reeling Texans squad gunning for the top selection
The only good news for the Texans is that the season is almost over and they are looking to be rewarded with the top pick in the NFL draft.
Their roster has been shaky all season long to say the least, and the quarterback play between Davis Mills or Kyle Allen or anyone else taking the field has not been great.
Their rushing defense has allowed the gates to open wide for just about any team they have faced this season, surrendering rushing yards near the top of the league.
Only a few weeks remain for them to slog through before they can start looking ahead to the next season, but this is a tough draw against a hungry Kansas City.
Chiefs @ Texans Betting Prediction
In terms of skill level and talent on the field, it is no contest between these two franchises. The Chiefs have the leg up in just about every position on the field.
A strong effort was shown by Houston last week, but that leads me to believe they will end up coming out flat in this home showing.
If the Chiefs get a score early, it will pretty much be over from there on out. Take the Chiefs to win in this one and the massive -12.5 point spread.
