Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders Betting Preview

Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders Betting Preview

The Chiefs and Raiders will battle on Sunday night in an exciting AFC West battle. KC has really underwhelmed to this point in the year, while perhaps, Vegas has overachieved a little, in spite of all the turmoil they have had to endure. This promises to be a fantastic football game, with a big crowd on hand to take it all in.

As for the Chiefs, the QB they paid all that money to, who is tied to them for over a decade, has fallen off a bit. Patrick Mahomes was an all-timer in the making based on how he played his first three years as a starter. But, it has all come crashing down on the team this year, as he has continually thrown tough passes into dual coverage and is firing off interceptions at a high rate.

For Las Vegas, their former best wide receiver is likely to spend the next 20+ years in prison, while their former head coach was outed for making a whole series of racial remarks over ten years ago. They have had to endure all of this, but the team has found ways to stay competitive, even while dealing with injuries to many key starters across the board.

As they brace themselves for this matchup, they’d best hope their D is ready to go.

Betting Odds & Lines

The spread for Sunday night favors the visiting Chiefs, KC -2.5. The over/under is set at 52 points. The KC moneyline is -144, while the LV line is +124.

Chiefs Looking for Monumental Road Win

With how this year has gone, any win will be a good thing for the Chiefs. They could have been 0-3 to start the year, but they did find a way to prevail against the Browns in week 1, which followed with losses to Baltimore and the Chargers, showing just how very human they were.

With the lack of a run game still haunting them, Mahomes has not been able to make up any part of the difference. They also have a very weak defensive unit, so they are filled with issues at several spots across the way.

If they lose this one, they will have a lot of questions to answer about themselves.

Las Vegas Looking for Win No. 6

Winning five of eight games would be impossible for almost any team when dealing with what Las Vegas has had to. They have had three years within this one, and that is considering that we are just now passing the midway point in things. This is a big chance for them.

L.A. and Denver have both found some rhythm in recent weeks, making the AFC West an absolute mess. Back when Tim Tebow was QB, and the 8-8 Broncos won it, there was a lot of parity, but also mediocrity. This is a better version of that year, with all of the teams being so close.

Look for Derek Carr to come out slinging it.

Chiefs Lose

The Raiders will get it done at home, despite being underdogs.
