Indianapolis Colts at Kansas City Chiefs Betting Pick and Prediction

On Saturday afternoon, the Indianapolis Colts will face off against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in the second round of the playoffs. The Colts went 10-6 in the regular season and got in via the wild card. The Chiefs went 12-4 and had a bye last weekend.

Colts Riding High

The Colts are coming off a dominating performance last weekend in the Wild Card round. They beat the Houston Texans 21-7 but the game was not as close as the score. Quarterback Andrew Luck had an okay game, going 19 for 32 for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns versus 1 interception. Running back Marlon Mack was the key for the Colts on offense and was unstoppable. Mack ran for 148 yards on 24 carries and a touchdown. T.Y. Hilton was the leading receiver for Indy, catching 5 passes for 85 yards. Dontrelle Inman and Eric Ebron were the recipients of the Andrew Luck touchdown passes.

Kansas City With a Layoff

The Chiefs last game was on December 30th, when they dismantled the Raiders 35-3. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a solid game and went 14 for 24 for 281 yards and 2 touchdowns with an interception. Damien and Darrel Williams combined for 82 yards on 22 carries and Damien found the end zone one time. Tyreek Hill was the leading receiver for Kansas City, going for 101 yards on 5 catches and caught a touchdown. Hill also added a 15 yard carry. Demarcus Robinson accounted for the other Mahomes touchdown, which was and 89 yard bomb. The Chief defense also had a pick 6 in this one.

Offensively There is Fire Power

The Colts offense has been great all season long and Andrew Luck has return to form. The Colts rank 7th in total yards with 386.2 per game and 5th in points with 27.1 a game. They throw for 278.8 yards per game which is 6th in the league and they run for 107.4 yards per game which is 20th in the league. The defense has been pretty solid for Indianapolis as well. They rank 10th in the NFL in points allowed with 21.5 per game and 11th in total yards allowed with 339.4 per game. They are 16th in passing yards allowed with 237.8 and that will be a problem against the dynamic Mahomes. They allow just 101.6 rushing yards a game and should be able to keep the Chiefs run game in check.

The Chiefs have been the best offensive teams in the NFL this season and have been one of the worst on defense. The offense puts up 35.3 points per game and averages 425.6 total yards per game, both of which rank 1st in the NFL. They throw for 309.7 yards per game and run for 115.9 which ranks 3rd and 16th, respectively. The defense has been abysmal, allowing 26.3 points per game which ranks 24th. They are 31st in total yards allowed with 405.5 as well as passing yards allowed with 273.4. They also allow 132.1 rushing yards per game which is 27th in the league.

What a Game

The Chiefs come into this one at -5. The Colts will be able to score all game long against a pitiful Chiefs defense and Andrew Luck should be able to pick apart this weak secondary. The Chiefs will alps score their fair share of points but I think the Colts defense will be able to come up with more stops than the Chiefs and the Colts may be able to come out of Kansas City with a straight up victory. Take the Colts +5.
