Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Lakers Play-In Betting Preview

The most exciting one-game series in NBA history might lay before us. The Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors battling at Staples Center is going to be a must-see on Wednesday night. And for those who wake up at 5:00 AM (ET) for work, you will probably want to stay awake anyway. The matchup is going to be incredible.

Stephen Curry has helped the Warriors to six wins in a row, helping them to procure the #8 seed. They had been 33-33 and in a bit of a rut as far as where they intended to finish. They beat Memphis on Sunday to secure a chance to be a win-and-in team, not having to go through the gauntlet and having to be 2-0. Steph is an MVP finalist, and though he has virtually no chance at winning the award, this may have been his best season yet.

The Lakers, on the other hand, finally has LeBron James and Anthony Davis back. But this team hasn’t found any smooth sailing yet, and it is not in the clear. LeBron tweaked something with six minutes left against the Pelicans in the season finale and could not finish the contest. He has only been back a few games and already is showing that his body is not on his side. Can they win and set up a battle with Phoenix?

ODDS

The spread for Wednesday’s game is sitting at LAL -5. The over/under is 220 points.

Dubs Trying to Make It Happen

One win and Steve Kerr’s Warriors will be #7 in the West, ready for battle with the Phoenix Suns. The last time Chris Paul and Steph got together in the playoffs, Paul missed the last two games as Houston blew a 3-2 lead and watched Golden State slide into another NBA Finals. This time, it would be quite the thrill.

If they want to win this game, GS might need Curry to play the entire game. He will log 12:00 in the first and third quarter as is (barring foul trouble) and will be jacking shots the whole time. It is all on his shoulders, really. Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green are the only other guys they can count on to be huge.

With Kelly Oubre Jr. out, Kent Bazemore remains in the starting lineup.

Lakers Seeking Quick Move

Despite the dramatic season they have had, the Lakers can punch a ticket as the #7 seed by simply winning one ballgame. Last season, of course, LA ran the West, coming away with the NBA title as they beat Portland, Houston, and Denver all in five games. Then, Miami in six to close things out in the Disney bubble.

This year, Anthony Davis missed several months. LeBron missed all of April, a good chunk of March, and most of May, too. But they’re both back. Dennis Schroder is back. Andre Drummond might be able to finally win the first playoff game of his career.

In order to win, LA needs to win the three-point category and force other guys besides Curry to beat them.

Warriors Win in a Stunner

Despite being underdogs, GSW will get it done. Curry will drop 50 to lift the Dubs to surprising upset. #7 seed, here they come!
