Somehow, America’s Team, despite being terrible a season ago, managed to finesse their way into the first NFL game of the season. They are traveling to Tampa Bay to face the defending champs. And with fans being a bigger part of things this year, the game will feel like a blessing.
For Dallas, Dak is making his way back, finally. He’s back at the helm and ready to make up for the lost time. The team did right by him in paying him while he was hurt, giving him the money he had been trying to get for a number of years. They did retool a bit, but the first game of the year is not going to be an easy one for them by any means.
The Bucs brought back every single starter from last year’s team. And they also made a few small signings, including Gio Bernard as a pass-catching RB. They have Tom Brady back and looking to win his eighth ring in the league. All he has done is win, a testament to his regimen and his teams providing him with all the right resources.
At the end of the day, it’s going to be a showdown. Football is back, baby.

Cowboys Seek Quick Start
Last year was a lost cause for the Cowboys even before Dak Prescott got hurt. They weren’t winning much and were making all sorts of inexcusable blunders. And Mike McCarthy didn’t do much to inspire confidence besides using a watermelon to motivate his players. That happened but once, and they just continued to take losses.
Ezekiel Elliott is still doing his thing, but he’s a bit more inconsistent now. They have addressed their WR problem, but that didn’t even make things better a year ago. Who knew that losing Jason Witten for a second time could actually create issues with an offense?
If Dallas wants the win in the opener, they will need to come out and play an effective first quarter. They won’t have Pro Bowl G Zack Martin, so that loss will be felt massively.
Bucs Seek 1-0 Start
After the long win streak to close the regular season last year, Tampa Bay ran with it. They went all the way to the Super Bowl and dispatched KC. Tom Brady joined a team that had been without a playoff berth in 13 years and helped them to win a Super Bowl. It was a magnificent feat.
But now comes the hardest part. Trying to repeat as champs. Brady has been there before, but there is parity right now. The Packers are hungrier than ever, and if they want to ensure Aaron Rodgers sticks around, they have to do something this year.
The receivers are elite. The defense is fantastic. The Bucs have no holes on the roster. If they play to their strengths, this will be an easy win.
