Guardians Back to.500 On the Season

The Cleveland Guardians are going to send Tanner Bibee to the mound. Bibee is a 24-year-old right-hander from Mission Viejo, California. He is 6-2 on the season, with a 3.04 earned run average. Bibee needs just 15 strikeouts to reach 100 on the season. In his last start, he went 7 strong innings, allowing just 2 hits, and struck out 8 in the win.

In the win on Wednesday, Cleveland was able to score early and score often. Jose Ramirez blasted two home runs in the game and drove in three runs. Steven Kwan set the tone with 2 RBIs for Cleveland as well.  The Guardians as a team are hitting .253, while Josh Naylor heads the team with a .303 average.

Cleveland starts a seven-game road trip as they go to Houston after that. Once they return back home on August 4th, these same two teams will get together for a three-game series before the Blue Jays make their way to Clevland for four.

White Sox Turn to Cease

For the White Sox, Dylan Cease gets the baseball. Cease has been rumored to be traded over the next few days before the deadline. The 27-year-old is coming off an outing in Minnesota, where he struck out 9 batters. Cease has struck out 38 over his last five starts, which spans 28.1 innings. Cease is 4-3 with a 4.04 this season.

On the offensive side, Chicago has seen Jake Burger pound out 22 home runs. He hit one in the fourth inning off Marcus Stroman on Wednesday.  The White Sox have been pleased with the season their slugger Luis Robert Jr. is having. The center fielder is hitting .270 and has clubbed 28 home runs and drove in 58 runs.

The White Sox are one of the worst-hitting teams in all of Major League Baseball. Chicago has a team batting average of .238, while 23rd in runs scored. After these four games at home against Cleveland, the White Sox will go on the road to take on the Texas Rangers and then head to Cleveland for a rematch.

Cease Wins; Maybe Last Start?

The Chicago White Sox claim they are going to keep Dylan Cease at the trade deadline. But will they? If they do not, this will be the final start for him. Look for Cease to have a good outing here, as the White Sox play the role of the spoiler. Betting the Chicago White Sox at -120 is the bet to make here on Thursday.
