In the Big 12 Conference, the Cincinnati Bearcats are on the road at the Houston Cougars. The Cincinnati Bearcats have seen struggles as of late; losing 7 out of their last 10 games. The Bearcats are coming off a road loss at TCU on Saturday to send them to 16-11 overall. Cincinnati has dropped all the way to 11th in the conference standings; tied with Central Florida.

For the Houston Cougars, they are one of the top teams in the country. Houston has been outstanding this season, with 24 wins in 27 games. The Cougars hold a single game lead over Iowa State and two over Kansas in the conference standings. Houston has won five straight games, with the most recent in overtime at Baylor.

Even since their loss 78-65 on the road at Kansas, the Houston Cougars have been on fire. The Cougars allowed 65 or less in four straight games, before they went to overtime and allowed 76. The Cougars also went a stretch at the end of January, where they held teams to 54, 42 and 52 in three out of four games.

On the offensive end, it’s LJ Cryer that is leading the charger. Cryer is scoring 15 points per game. Jamal Shead is second on the team with 13.3. The other double digit scorer for Houston this season has been Emanuel Sharp, with 12.8 per game.

Houston’s final three games will start with back to back road games. The Cougars are at Oklahoma on Saturday and Central Florida after that. Houston will finish the regular season at home against Kansas.

Cougars Top Bearcats

Houston is really good on the defensive end. That is going to be a big time problem for the Cincinnati Bearcats. The Bearcats just struggle to put the ball in the basket when they need to. With this game being at Houston, it is hard to imagine that these two teams will be within 10 points of each other.
