Chicago Bears @ New York Giants Betting Preview

After three weeks of play in the NFL regular season, it is a miracle that either one of these teams will come out of this game with a 3-1 record.

Early Sunday kickoff will include a matchup between the Chicago Bears on the road to take on the New York Giants.

The Giants are coming in on a short week, after dropping their first game of the season on Monday Night Football to their division rival Dallas Cowboys.

Chicago managed to scrape by on a late turnover to secure the victory over the Texans, but they lost their starting running back in the process.

Both teams feature some troubled offenses that don’t exactly capitalize on their strengths, but there are a few key players that can break free at any moment.

As we look ahead at the spread for this game, the New York Giants get the nod at home over the Chicago Bears at -3.5.

A makeshift offense that is finding success on the ground

Even after losing their starting running back in their matchup against the Texans, the Bears managed to run the ball down their throats.

Khalil Herbert, a competent backup, stepped up in his role and ran in tandem with Justin Fields all over the Texans’ defense.

Passing has not exactly been there yet for Fields, but there is still time to improve that aspect of his game as long as he continues to find ways to win.

The defense continues to stand out and it might give the Bears a better chance to be a little bit better than anyone would have expected.

Trust in the big-name players on your roster

The Giants learned a painful lesson on Monday night, one that they have been learning for the last couple of seasons: trusting in Daniel Jones to lead the way has proven unsuccessful.

Where the Giants found some success in Week 3 was handing the ball off to SaQuon Barkley and allowing him to get to work in the open field.

Barkley looks ready to shoulder a stronger load for this offense, but has yet to get the touches in the ground game that he needs.

Either way, the Giants are better off than we originally expected, so there are positives to this team.

Bears @ Giants Betting Prediction

As stated in the open, it is a mystery how one of these teams is going to end up with a 3-1 record after this game barring a tie.

With the Giants hosting this game, their pass defense will be able to give Fields some fits and force them to be a one-dimensional offense.

Barkley clearly needs the ball as much as he can, whether in the ground game or short dump offs, and the Giants will likely adjust their game plan to match that.

Can’t believe it is being said, but take the Giants at home at -3.5 to exit Week 4 with a 3-1 record in the NFC.
