We have one of the best NHL games of the week on Wednesday night as the Carolina Hurricanes will take on the Vegas Golden Knights. Vegas comes into this one with the most points in the Pacific Division and the most in the Western Conference.
Carolina, on the other hand, comes into this one with the second most points in all of the Eastern Conference and the most in the Metropolitan Division.
With this game being played in Las Vegas, it could get a bit interesting both ways. Carolina has proven to be an above-average road team this season, as they’re 8-2 in their last 10 games, but this one could be different. They still come in as the favorite at -135.
Huge Game for Carolina
When looking at what the Carolina Hurricanes have done this season, many believe that this is arguably the best team in the NHL this season. Not only do they have the second most points in all of hockey with 86, but they’ve been playing incredible hockey throughout their past few games and have beaten some high-level opponents.
In that stretch, Carolina has wins over the Boston Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, Washington Capitals, St. Louis Blues, and a few others. This might be their toughest game in their last 10 as the game is going to be on the road, and it’s the start of a two-game road trip, but Carolina has more than enough to win this game by even more than one goal.
If they’re going to find a way to win this game, it’s going to be because of what they’ve been able to do all season long. When they have nights where they can’t put the puck in the back of the net, either of their goalkeepers finds a way to get the job done.
Vegas Can Prove a Ton Here
The Vegas Golden Knights are also one of the best teams in hockey as we’ve mentioned, but this team does come out and play some interesting hockey on certain nights. They’re 6-1-3 in their last 10 games but have lost their last two. Those two losses came against the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche.
However, before these losses, they were able to take down the Calgary Flames and Tampa Bay Lightning in two of their three other contest.
If they’re going to find a way to win this game, it’s all going to start with what they do on the attack. They can score goals in bunches, and that needs to happen in this game.
Carolina Hurricanes vs. Vegas Golden Knights Prediction
This line is a bit telling, considering that Carolina is a favorite on the road. Because of that, it doesn’t seem like a bad idea to trust the books here and not fall for the trap of taking Vegas plus money. If Carolina comes out and can do what they’ve been able to do throughout their past 10 games, this should be an incredible contest for them and another major win.
The Hurricanes realize that they could still get the number one seed in at the Eastern Conference if all does go right for them this season, so expect them to go hard and get a huge win against a tough Golden Knights team on Wednesday night.
