On Thursday – in Orlando Florida – the Camping World Bowl will take place as the Virginia Tech Hokies take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys. This is the second of a day featuring four college football games. The #22 Virginia Tech Hokies are 9-3 on the season, and finished second in the ACC – Coastal. The Hokies won back to back games over Pittsburgh and Virginia to finish the season.
For the Oklahoma State Cowboys – they finished the regular season with a 9-3 record. The Cowboys are ranked #19 in the Associated Press poll. The Cowboys won their regular season finale as well, beating the Kansas Jayhawks 58-17. The Oklahoma State Cowboys come into this game as the favorite. The Cowboys are -4 over Virginia Tech.
Mason Rudolph has a chance to finish the season as the only quarterback in College Football to pass for 5,000+ yards. Rudolph needs 447 in this game to get to 5,000. The quarterback also could reach 40 passing touchdowns, with 5 in this game. His top target has been James Washington, who needs just 77 yards to reach 1,500, and caught 12 touchdowns.
Do not forget about Justice Hill for the Cowboys. The running back needs just 153 yards to reach 1,500 on the season and he has 14 touchdowns on the ground as well. The Cowboys come into the game ranked 1st in passing yards per game with 392.3, and 3rd in scoring, as they are scoring more than 46 points per game.
Hokies Short Handed
Justin Fuente leads his Virginia Tech Hokies in the game with a 9-3 record. The Hokies will play this game wihtout top reciever Cam Phillips and leading rusher Travon McMillian. That changes the game plan, but Fuente promises it does not. Those two combined for more than 1,400 yards and 10+ of the Hokies touchdowns in 2017.
Josh Jackson will have his work cut out for him, but he is going against a Cowboys defense that was pretty soft for much of 2017. The Hokies three losses this season came to the Clemson Tigers, Miami Hurricanes and then on the road at the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Virginia Tech beat Pittsburgh and on the road at Virginia to wrap up the season.
Cowboys Throw on Hokies
The Oklahoma State Cowboys are going to throw the football, and throw it some more. Unless the Hokies find a diamond in the rough on offense, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where they can keep up on the offensive side. Oklahoma State has enough defense to win this game, and win by a touchdown or more. Look for them to do that and grab a Big 12 win over the ACC on Thursday. The final bet for this game is the Oklahoma State Cowboys -4 over the Virginia Tech Hokies.
