BUCKS AT SUNS GAME 5 NBA FINALS BETTING PREVIEW

The 2021 NBA Finals have been an incredible viewing experience for fans of all 30 NBA teams. There are a number of former top-tier guys finding new life within these teams. And of course, this has been one for the ages, with all of the big plays and breakout performances. It is a basketball fan’s dream.

And this final marks the first time since 2006 that the home team has won the first four games. For reference, that was the Miami Heat-Dallas Mavs series. In that one, Miami dropped the first two before winning the next four. The format had been 2-3-2 in those times, but it is eerily similar to what is happening now. Giannis Antetokounmpo is a more well-rounded version of Shaquille O’Neal, while Khris Middleton is looking very much like the Dwyane Wade in that scenario.

The Phoenix Suns have a lot riding on this game as they try to win their first-ever NBA title. They lost to the Chicago Bulls in 1993 and had not been back since then. Devin Booker has to continue to stay hot, while Chris Paul needs to really step up. He played poorly in both road games, showing that he, too, is still human. The rotations are all set, but they are not winning the minutes and situations that they are supposed to.

ODDS

The Game 5 spread is favoring the home Suns, PHX -4. The over/under is 218.5 points.

Bucks Seeking Key Road Win

The home team being 4-0 to this point in the series bodes well for the Suns and not so much for the Milwaukee Bucks. This has been an identical opening to the series against the Brooklyn Nets in round two, where the home team won all the way through game 7, where Milwaukee finally stole a road win.

Giannis has been out-of-this-world good and has come up with two all-time-great blocks over the course of the first four games. He and Middleton are both playing at a high level. He dropped 40 in the last game, marking his fourth straight 35+ effort. And then if you add the defense of Jrue Holiday and PJ Tucker, you have yourselves a squad.

They will win the next game through Pat Connaughton playing well and Jrue stepping up to score more.

Suns in Dire Need of Victory

At 2-2, the Suns are in control of their own destiny. As the higher seed, they own home court, and two of the potential final three games are going to be on their home court. On Tuesday, somebody will have a chance to clinch their first title in pretty much ever.

Phoenix’s bench rotation now features just three guys since the Dario Saric injury. Cam Johnson and Cam Payne have both been on top of their game, while Torrey Craig is adding significant value. All of them can hit big shots and make the big plays on the defensive end.

A win would come from CP3 stepping up and D Book scoring 40 again.

BUCKS WIN!

From down 0-2 to up 3-2, the Bucks will move to within a win of the title.
