BOSTON RED SOX AT NEW YORK YANKEES BETTING PREVIEW

BOSTON RED SOX AT NEW YORK YANKEES BETTING PREVIEW

The Boston Red Sox will head to the Bronx to re-open the second half of the season on Thursday night. The rivalry will continue as they will play four games in a row against one another for the long weekend. Thursday will mark a rarity where only one game is on the slate, and it’s this one right here. Boy, is this going to be fun.

The New York Yankees have dealt with a lot this year, and it looks like the losses have started to get to them. Gary Sanchez has been good enough to remain as the primary starter, but they have issues across the board. Gerrit Cole has been the only reliable starter, and Aaron Boone’s seat has continued to get hotter. The team is barely even over .500 at this point, so the weekend series could help be a turning point.

The Red Sox, it seems, just needed Alex Cora back. With him managing again, they are 55-36 and atop the AL East for the time being. They are hitting as well as anybody in the majors, and it does not appear as if it will stop anytime soon. The bullpen for them has been very good and a huge part of the wins, while the rotation has not been too good.

As these teams are set to battle, it will be fun to watch them go.

ODDS

The spread is currently favoring the Yankees at -1.5. The over/under is set at 10 runs. The NYY moneyline is -140, and Boston’s is +118.

Sox Seek Quick Second Half Start

In baseball, of course, you cannot win them all. The best teams every year lose 60-70 games because that is just how things are. The Red Sox would love to sweep their divisional rival, but the chances of that are not too great. The pitching matchups are going to dictate most of what goes down.

Adam Ottavino has found new life in Beantown after a down year for the Yankees. The team has home run hitters up and down the lineup, and they can outscore anybody over the course of 3-4 games.

At the end of the day, the team is going to win with hitting, and they would be wise to start strong and quickly chase the starter.

Yankees Start Crucial Stretch

There are still more than 70 games left for all the teams in the majors, but for some, the turnaround has to begin immediately. The Yankees have no time to waste, and the next few months will see Aaron Boone managing for his job. This is a team in need of more.

Corey Kluber could not make it through the year, and their other non-Cole pitchers have not been very good. They have not found consistency anywhere else, and they tend to strike out at the plate far too often.

They are going to need to jump on the Boston pitching for things to go well. Look for their bats to be hot on Thursday.

RED SOX WIN

The Red Sox will claim the Thursday win to begin a strong second half.
