Boston Celtics at Golden State Warriors Game 2 Betting Preview

Boston Celtics at Golden State Warriors Game 2 Betting Preview

The Boston Celtics will play Game 2 against the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center once again on Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET. Boston stormed into Chase Center and won Game 1 after a wild fourth-quarter comeback.

The Warriors, on the other hand, dominated the first 40 minutes of the game but were unable to finish and hope to even the series when they head to Boston for Game 3.

The Warriors are a 4.5-point favorite at home against the Celtics, according to most sportsbooks. Golden State is a -185 home favorite, while the Celtics have a +152 underdog moneyline. For this game, the over/under has been set at 215.5 points.

Boston Takes Game 1 on the Road

By the fourth quarter, Boston appeared to be on the verge of losing Game 1; however, the Celtics came back from a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter to outscore Golden 40-16 and win.

Al Horford led Boston with 26 points, followed by Jaylen Brown with 24 and Derrick White with 21. With 12 points and 13 assists, Jayson Tatum grabbed a double-double but was horrendous shooting the ball going 3-17 from the field.

Boston’s big three is playing excellent basketball right now, with Tatum averaging 26.2 points, Brown averaging 23 points per game, and Smart, who is averaging 15.7 points per game. In the playoffs, Boston is shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 37.1 percent from three.

The Celtics also have the second-best defensive rating in the playoffs, allowing 105.1 points per 100 possessions, and the second-fewest points per game, allowing 101 points per game.

After a determined showing in the late stages of Game 1, the Boston Celtics have every reason to be happy, and they continue to play excellent basketball on the road. Additionally, during these playoffs, the Celtics are 8-2 on the road, with two wins when facing elimination.

Warriors Blow Lead in Game 1

Steve Kerr’s team will need to regroup after they lost the series opener at home. It was their first loss in their own stadium this postseason, and Golden State will try to tie the series in the next game on Sunday at Chase Center.

In Game 1, the Warriors were doing a good job of protecting Tatum and defending the Celtics inside the paint until the fourth quarter, where they were outscored 40-16. Steph Curry led the team with 34 points, while Andrew Wiggins had 20, and Klay Thompson had 15.

Otto Porter Jr. tallied 12 points off the bench in his comeback from injury. Draymond Green, Kevon Looney, and Jordan Poole all had underwhelming games, scoring four, four, and nine points, respectively.

Game 1 was dominated by the Warriors for the first 40 minutes, and Steve Kerr will get the number two ranked defense back on track. Al Horford and Derrick White won’t put up 47 points again, and this series is far from over.

Count on Curry to lead the Warriors with his playoff average of 26.4 points per game, and expect Poole and Green to have a much better game in Game 2.

Celtics/Warriors Betting Preview

Golden State led most of the game before taking their foot off the throttle at an inopportune time. The Warriors appeared to be entirely capable of escaping the Celtics’ defensive pressure and will almost certainly finish the job if the opportunity arises again.

The major justification for taking the points with Boston is because after going 3-for-17 in Game 1, Jayson Tatum is projected to play better in Game 2. Despite this, Al Horford, Marcus Smart, and Derrick White all made significant contributions to the Celtics’ victory, and I don’t think they pick up the slack like they did in Game 1 on the road.

Even if Game 2 is closer throughout, I expect the Warriors to respond with vigor and win the game. Expect Jordan Poole and Draymond Green to rebound big in this one.

The Warriors have only lost one game at Chase Center in the playoffs, and the house should be rocking for Game 2.

Betting Pick: Warriors -4.5
