Boston Celtics at Golden State Warriors Betting Pick

Things could not be going any better for the Boston Celtics as they head into a Friday night clash on the road against the Golden State Warriors. The Celtics are continuing to find new ways to win and more guys to contribute. Coming off a 140-133 win over the Wizards, the Celtics have now won nine games in a row since losing to Philly in the season opener. It is the longest winning streak that Kemba Walker has been a part of at the NBA level, and Boston has won the last few games without the services of the rejuvenated Gordon Hayward.

On the other hand, you really have to feel bad for the Warriors. They don’t have Stephen Curry or Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green is battling through injuries. Several rookies are getting big minutes, and they are slated for so many more national TV games, this being another one. Every mistake they make is going to be magnified on a larger level, and their record is not at all surprising, but it’s still a shock to actually see it after five straight Finals trips. The D’Angelo Russell show rolls on.

The spread for Friday night favors the visiting Celtics by eight points, while the over/under sits at 225.5.

Looking To Keep Rolling

The Celtics had a 13-game winning streak early on in the 2017-18 season, and now here we are, two years later, with Brad Stevens’ club riding another long streak. The departures of Terry Rozier, Al Horford and Kyrie Irving are not hurting the Celtics as much as many believed they would, and they have been a tough team to handle. Even without Hayward, the Celtics continue to keep it going. Boston has rim-protectors galore, and the defensive versatility of Marcus Smart has been on full display, with him playing some power forward and locking down guys five to seven inches taller for long stretches. They are a gritty team that is trying to make it 10 in a row.

Defensively, the Celtics will swarm you and force you into shots you otherwise hate to take. With several young guys on Golden State, they will experience it firsthand for the first time. Look for Boston to force north of 20 turnovers.

Warriors Just Want One

These have been the most trying times of the Steve Kerr era, and it does not seem that better days will be on the horizon during the 2019-20 season. Next year with a healthy Curry and Thompson plus a high draft pick, the Warriors will be a contender again, but they will have to take their lumps for now. Russell is looking great, and Eric Paschall is looking like a real draft steal. Damion Lee had been playing well, but he’s out a few weeks after leaving their last game with an injury. Ky Bowman could have a chance to get some buckets against Carsen Edwards on the second unit.

Golden State’s only hope will be to score early and often and keep the fans engaged. Without Curry, the offense has no true distraction to free up other guys.
