Big 12 Hoops: West Virginia at Baylor

A pair of Big 12 teams will get together on Tuesday in Waco. The Baylor Bears will host the West Virginia Mountaineers. The Baylor Bears have won five straight games, and are 17-10 on the season. When playing at home this season, the Bears have won 12 out of 15 games. Baylor is coming off a thrilling upset over the Big 12 leading Texas Tech Red Raiders.

For the West Virginia Mountaineers, they start the week ranked 21st in the most recent Associated Press poll. The Mountaineers are coming off a road loss at Kansas on Saturday. That loss dropped West Virginia to 19-8 overall. The Mountaineers are 4-4 on the road this season. The Baylor Bears come into this game as the favorite. Baylor is listed at -2 over West Virginia.

Scott Drew and his Baylor Bears have heated up, and now look like they could be a possible NCAA Tournament team. The Mountaineers are now tied with the Kansas State Wildcats for third in the Big 12 at 8-6; a single game ahead of the Baylor Bears.

The Mountaineers are anchored offensively by Jevon Carter, with 16.9 points per game. Daxter Miles Jr is second on the team in scoring with 12.2 points per game, and was the leader in the loss to Kansas. The Mountaineers finish their regular season with home games against Iowa State and  Texas Tech and a road trip to the Texas Longhorns to finish the season.
